Position - Site Safety Officer

Department – Setting, Health & Safety

Location – Pune, Maharashtra

Education - Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field. Additional certifications such as NEBOSH, IOSH, or Fire Safety are a strong advantage. Mandatory Certification ADIS (Advanced Diploma in Industrial Safety) Non-negotiable requirement.

Key Responsibilities

Site Safety Management

- Oversee EHS operations for multiple corporate interior fit-out projects across Pune, Mumbai, and other locations
- Conduct regular site inspections, audits, safety walks, and compliance reviews
- Ensure strict adherence to safety regulations, statutory requirements, and client-specific EHS standards
- Monitor critical high-risk activities including:

- Working at heights
- Electrical works
- Hot work activities
- Material handling
- Confined space operations
- Civil and MEP coordination activities

Compliance & Documentation





Ensure adherence to Maharashtra/Mumbai local authority safety regulations and statutory requirements.

Maintain all EHS documentation including permits to work, inspection checklists, and safety logs

Liaise with client safety teams and government/statutory bodies as required

Prepare and submit weekly and monthly EHS reports to the Project Manager.

Coordination

Coordinate with the Project Manager, site engineers, and subcontractors on safety-related matters

Ensure compliance with fire safety, electrical safety, and working-at-height regulations specific to interior fitout projects.

Participate in project planning meetings to embed safety considerations from the outset.

Qualifications & Requirements:

- Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience as a Safety Officer in construction/interior fitout, preferably in corporate office fitout projects.
- Solid knowledge of fitout-related hazards, including work at height, electrical installations, false ceilings, glass partitions, and MEP coordination.

Skills & Competencies:

- Strong knowledge of Indian safety laws, IS codes, and Maharashtra/Mumbai regulations.
- Skilled in safety planning, risk assessment, and HSE documentation.
- Strong communication and leadership skills with diverse site teams.
- Proficient in MS Office for safety reporting.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities under pressure.
