Role Description The Engineer role at Lazza IceCreams is a full-time, on-site position based in Kochi. The Engineer will be responsible for overseeing the operation and maintenance of production machinery and utilities, ensuring optimal efficiency, safety, and product quality. Day-to-day tasks include monitoring equipment performance, troubleshooting technical issues, coordinating preventive and corrective maintenance, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives in the plant.

The role also involves collaborating with production, quality, and management teams to implement process enhancements, support new product introductions,



and maintain compliance with relevant safety and food industry standards. The Engineer may assist in plant expansion projects, equipment upgrades, and documentation of technical procedures.

Qualifications

- Strong foundation in mechanical, electrical, or industrial engineering, with knowledge of production machinery and utility systems used in food or FMCG manufacturing.
- Experience in maintenance planning, troubleshooting, and root-cause analysis for automated and semi-automated equipment.
- Understanding of quality, safety, and hygiene standards applicable to food processing environments, and ability to follow and improve SOPs.
- Proficiency in using basic engineering tools, maintenance management software, and technical documentation.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to coordinate with cross-functional plant and management teams.
- Ability to work on-site in Kochi, manage time effectively, and respond promptly to operational and maintenance requirements.
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or related field); prior experience in dairy, ice cream, or similar processing plants is an advantage.
- Exposure to continuous improvement methodologies (such as Lean or TPM) and an interest in sustainability and energy-productive operations is beneficial.
