Role Description The Editor-in-Chief role is a part-time, remote position responsible for overseeing the editorial vision, standards, and workflows of IJSRT. Day-to-day tasks include managing the peer-review process, making final publication decisions, and guiding the editorial team to ensure timely and high-quality issue releases. The Editor-in-Chief will develop and refine editorial policies, maintain ethical standards, and ensure alignment with the journal’s interdisciplinary scope.
Additional responsibilities include attracting high-quality submissions, engaging with the academic and professional community,
coordinating with reviewers and authors, and monitoring journal performance metrics. The role may also involve strategic planning for journal growth, including special issues, partnerships, and indexing opportunities.
Qualifications
- Strong editorial and publishing skills, including experience in peer review, manuscript assessment, and editorial decision-making.
- Proven ability in academic or scientific writing, critical analysis, and clear communication across technical and non-technical audiences.
- Familiarity with research methodologies and scholarly work in at least one of the journal’s core domains (e.g., computer science, engineering, medical or social sciences).
- Experience leading or coordinating academic, research, or editorial teams, with effective remote collaboration and stakeholder management skills.
- Knowledge of ethical standards in scholarly publishing, including plagiarism, authorship, and conflict-of-interest policies.
- Comfort working with online journal management or submission systems and basic digital tools for document review and communication.
- Advanced degree (Master’s or PhD) in a relevant discipline is strongly preferred; prior experience as editor, associate editor, or editorial board member is an advantage.
- Demonstrated record of research, publications, or skilled contributions in any of the domains covered by the journal.
