Company Description Sports Asia Foundation (SAF) is India’s international sports education and ecosystem platform, focused on building the infrastructure that the country’s sports future depends on. Rather than operating as an academy or coaching center, SAF serves as a hub for sports education, leadership, research, and partnerships. The organization addresses gaps in the sports ecosystem by promoting structured sports education, international certifications, professional administration, and clear career pathways aligned with global standards.

SAF’s work spans sports leadership development, youth development, university partnerships, and international collaborations, including a strategic partnership with USSU and leadership of FICTS India to advance sports culture, media, storytelling, and Olympic values. Role Description The Director Sports Education and Academics is a full-time, on-site leadership role based in Hyderabad. This role is responsible for designing, overseeing, and continuously improving sports education and academic programs, including curricula, certifications, and learning pathways aligned with international standards. The director will lead academic planning, manage program delivery, coordinate with internal teams and external partners, and ensure that education initiatives support SAF’s broader ecosystem goals.

Day-to-day responsibilities include supervising faculty and trainers, setting quality benchmarks, monitoring learner outcomes, and managing accreditation and compliance requirements.



The role also involves collaborating with university and international partners, driving research and thought leadership in sports education, and representing SAF at industry events, workshops, and stakeholder meetings.

Qualifications

- Robust background in sports education, academic administration, or curriculum development, preferably within higher education or professional training environments.
- Experience leading academic programs, including designing course content, setting learning outcomes, and managing accreditation or certification processes.
- Demonstrated ability to build and manage partnerships with universities, federations, and international sports bodies.
- Proven leadership and people management skills, including supervising educators, trainers, and cross-functional teams.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to work effectively across diverse cultures and disciplines.
- Strategic planning and project management capabilities, including managing multiple programs, timelines, and budgets.
- Understanding of sports ecosystems, athlete development pathways, and global trends in sports education and sports management.
- Master’s degree or equivalent in Education, Sports Management, Sports Science, or a related field; advanced or international qualifications are an advantage.
- Prior experience working in or with Indian sports organizations, educational institutions, or international sports education platforms is highly desirable.
