Role Description The Development Engineer (Bar Code Validation) role is a full-time, on-site position based in Chennai. In this role, the engineer designs, develops, and maintains bar code validation software and electronic systems used in production and quality control environments. Day-to-day responsibilities include programming and software development for bar code validation, collaborating with R&D; on new features, integrating solutions with existing electronic hardware, and performing functional and performance testing.

The engineer analyzes validation results, troubleshoots issues, and works closely with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate, reliable bar code reading and compliance with customer and industry standards.



The position involves documenting technical specifications, test cases, and system configurations for ongoing support and future enhancements.

Qualifications

- Strong background in Research and Development (R&D;), with experience contributing to product design, improvement, and innovation.
- Proficiency in Software Development and Programming, preferably with experience in embedded systems, automation, or barcode-related applications.
- Hands-on Testing skills, including test planning, execution, debugging, and validation of software and hardware systems.
- Solid understanding of Electronics, electronic circuits, and hardware–software integration in industrial or manufacturing contexts.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electronics, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Ability to read and interpret technical documentation, standards, and hardware specifications related to bar code technologies.
- Robust analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and a focus on accuracy and reliability.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills for working with engineering, production, and quality teams on-site in Chennai.
- Experience with bar code scanners, validation tools, or industrial automation systems is an advantage.
