Deputy Manager – Accounts, Tax & Compliance

Role Overview
We are looking for a Deputy Manager – Accounts, Tax & Compliance to manage accounting, financial reporting, taxation, regulatory compliance, and audit-related activities. The role will work closely with the Finance Controller and internal and external stakeholders to ensure accurate, timely, and compliant financial and regulatory reporting.
Key ResponsibilitiesAccounting & Financial Reporting
- Review trial balances regularly to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with applicable accounting standards.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with Ind AS.
- Perform detailed analysis of financial data and identify accounting discrepancies, gaps, and areas requiring corrective action.
- Ensure timely closure of books and accurate financial reporting.
RBI Reporting & Regulatory Compliance
- Prepare and file monthly RBI returns, including CRILC and DNBS-4B.
- Prepare and submit quarterly RBI returns,
including DNBS-01, DNBS-02, DNBS-03, and DNBS-04A.
- Manage annual RBI returns and other applicable regulatory submissions.
- Coordinate responses to RBI inspections, regulatory queries, and information requests.
- Ensure accuracy and timely submission of all regulatory data and reports.
Statutory Audit & Compliance
- Coordinate with statutory auditors for the timely completion of audits.
- Provide auditors with required schedules, supporting documents, reconciliations, and financial information.
- Address audit queries and ensure timely closure of audit observations.
- Ensure compliance with applicable accounting, taxation, and regulatory requirements.
Direct Tax & TDS
- Prepare and compile financial and supporting data for Income Tax notices, assessments, scrutiny proceedings, and appeals, including matters at CIT and ITAT levels.
- Coordinate with tax consultants and advisors for timely responses and submissions.
- Ensure accurate and timely TDS compliance, including filings, reconciliations, and related documentation.
- Maintain appropriate records and supporting documents for tax assessments and regulatory requirements.
GST Compliance
- Ensure timely and accurate GST compliance and related filings.
- Prepare data and documentation required for GST annual returns.
- Coordinate responses to GST notices and queries.
- Review GST reconciliations and ensure appropriate resolution of discrepancies.
AIF & Other Regulatory Compliance
- Ensure compliance with applicable AIF-related regulatory and reporting requirements.
- Coordinate with internal teams, consultants, and regulatory advisors for compliance-related matters.
- Compile and maintain accurate data for various tax, regulatory, and statutory submissions.
- Monitor regulatory updates and ensure timely implementation of applicable requirements.
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Chartered Accountant (CA) qualification is mandatory.
- 2–3 years of relevant post-qualification experience in accounting, taxation, compliance, audit, or a related finance function.
- Experience in a regulated financial services/NBFC environment will be an advantage.
- Hands-on experience with Ind AS financial reporting, RBI reporting, taxation, GST, TDS, and statutory audits is preferred.
Key Skills & Competencies
- Strong knowledge of Ind AS and financial statement preparation.
- Hands-on understanding of RBI reporting, including CRILC and DNBS returns.
- Strong knowledge of Income Tax, TDS, and GST compliance.
- Exposure to tax assessments, notices, and appeals.
- Experience in coordinating statutory audits and regulatory inspections.
- Strong analytical and reconciliation skills with attention to detail.
- Proficiency in MS Excel and financial/accounting tools.
- Ability to manage multiple compliance deadlines effectively.
- Solid communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.
- High level of ownership, accuracy, and attention to detail.
