Solartis is a leading InsurTech company delivering cloud-based core insurance platforms to global customers. We are looking for a highly motivated Database Administrator (DBA) to manage mission-critical database infrastructure supporting our SaaS platforms. The ideal candidate should have strong experience in MySQL, MongoDB, and modern database technologies, with expertise in high availability, replication, performance tuning, and cloud-based database operations.
Job Summary The Database Administrator (DBA) will be responsible for ensuring the availability, performance, security, and reliability of production and non-production database environments. The role includes database administration, performance optimization, backup and recovery, replication management, high availability, ClickHouse administration, and database migration activities while supporting a 24x7 SaaS production environment.
Location - Coimbatore/Madurai/Chennai
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor database health, availability, and performance on a daily basis.
- Perform database performance tuning, query optimization, indexing, and slow query analysis.
- Configure, monitor, and troubleshoot MySQL replication (Master-Slave, Multi-Source, Multi-Master).
- Implement and maintain High Availability (HA) solutions across regions using MySQL InnoDB Cluster and ClusterSet.
- Administer and maintain ClickHouseDB clusters for high-performance analytical workloads.
- Manage and monitor data ingestion pipelines from MySQL to ClickHouseDB, ensuring data consistency, synchronization, and optimal performance.
- Administer and maintain MongoDB databases, including installation, upgrades, migrations, replication, and restoration.
- Perform database backups and periodic restoration validation.
- Execute database recovery activities during production incidents.
- Perform database Disaster Recovery (DR) drills and validate recovery readiness.
- Create new database instances and configure replication for customer environments.
- Monitor replication health and proactively resolve replication failures.
- Manage database user accounts, roles, privileges, and access controls.
- Implement database security best practices, including password rotation, PAM/Active Directory authentication, and access governance.
- Perform database version upgrades, patching, migrations, and data center/VM migration activities.
- Configure database monitoring and alerting using enterprise monitoring tools.
- Support emergency maintenance activities, including database restart, VM reboot, and production recovery.
- Validate database consistency through routine health checks and table validation activities.
- Collaborate with Development, DevOps, Cloud Provisioning, Infrastructure, and Application teams for deployments, migrations, and issue resolution.
- Participate in 24x7 production support and on-call rotation.
Required Skills
Database Technologies
- Strong hands-on experience with MySQL.
- Experience administering MongoDB.
- Experience administering ClickHouseDB.
- Strong understanding of NoSQL database concepts.
- Exposure to PostgreSQL is an added advantage.
Technical Skills
- Database administration and troubleshooting.
- Performance tuning and query optimization.
- Index optimization and execution plan analysis.

Good to Have
- Experience with PostgreSQL administration.
- Cloud platforms such as OCI, AWS, or Azure.
- Docker and Kubernetes.
- Monitoring tools such as Grafana, Zabbix, ELK, AppDynamics, or Prometheus.
- Automation using Python, Shell Scripting, or Ansible.
- ITIL/Incident Management knowledge.
- Experience supporting enterprise SaaS applications in a 24x7 production environment.
Desired Candidate Profile
- 3–7 years of hands-on experience in database administration.
- Strong experience managing MySQL production environments.
- Hands-on experience with MongoDB and ClickHouseDB administration.
- Good understanding of relational and NoSQL database architectures.
- Experience implementing High Availability and Disaster Recovery solutions.
- Experience with database migrations, upgrades, and replication management.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to independently handle production incidents and performance issues.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Willingness to participate in on-call support for production systems.
Educational Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Oracle MySQL, MongoDB, PostgreSQL, Cloud, or related certifications are an added advantage.
