Creative Lead Designer

About the Role

We're looking for a Creative Lead Designer who wants to design, not just manage design. This role sits at the intersection of strong visual craft, UX thinking, and team leadership. You'll work across SaaS product design, websites, and design systems, and you'll be expected to bring fresh thinking to how we solve problems, not just execute briefs.

We need a leader with robust design skills. Someone who can raise the game of the team, not just review their work and sign off. You should be able to jump into the work when needed and show what good looks like, but your main impact should come through the people and quality you're driving across the team.

What You'll Do

- Own visual design and UX quality across multiple concurrent projects
- Design for SaaS products, from user flows to polished UI, and build or extend design systems
- Design websites that balance brand expression with usability
- Push for original thinking. We want ideas that move the industry forward, not templated solutions
- Guide and mentor the design team, setting direction and raising the bar on craft
- Use AI as a co-pilot to speed up production, not as a replacement for thinking or concept work
- Balance hands-on design work with leading the team, not just designing solo
- Review team output and give sharp,

- Partner with product, branding, and client teams to keep design outcomes aligned to business goals

What We're Looking For

- Strong visual design sense along with solid UX/UI fundamentals
- Proven experience designing SaaS products and websites end to end
- Experience building or working within design systems
- Comfortable using AI tools to speed up delivery, but understands where AI helps and where it doesn't
- Has led or mentored a sizeable design team
- Someone who still wants to be in the work, not just directing it from a distance
- A point of view on design, not just execution ability
- Can manage multiple projects at once without losing quality or pace
- Strong communication, able to defend design decisions with clarity

What We're Not Looking For

- Someone looking to step away from hands-on design work
- Someone who treats AI as a shortcut for original thinking
- Someone comfortable with average output at high speed
