Company Description Sahney Kirkwood is a manufacturer of specialty flexible and rigid insulating materials serving leading companies in wind, hydro and turbo-generators, inverters, drives, electrical panels, switch-gears, bus bars, foundries, induction furnaces, and hydraulic press platens. The organization works with advanced materials such as Epoxy G-11, Polyester GPO3s, silicones, mica, and composite solutions tailored to demanding industrial applications. It also produces prepregs and laminates using aramid, fleece, glass, polyamides, polyester films, and specialty resin systems.

These prepregs are molded into sheets, tubes, and complex shapes using metal molds and taping machines, enabling high-performance insulation solutions for diverse sectors.

Role Description The Costing Engineer is a full-time, on-site role based in Bengaluru, responsible for developing and maintaining accurate cost estimates for insulating materials, prepregs, laminates, and related components. Day-to-day activities include analyzing raw material prices, process parameters, labor inputs, and overheads to prepare costing for new and existing products, as well as supporting quotations and pricing decisions. The role involves close collaboration with production, procurement, sales, and engineering teams to gather data, validate assumptions, and improve cost efficiency.

The Costing

Engineer will monitor variances between estimated and actual costs,



recommend cost optimization initiatives, and prepare regular costing and margin reports for management. The position also requires maintaining costing databases, updating standard costs, and supporting budgeting and forecasting efforts.

Qualifications

- Strong cost estimation and analysis skills, including experience with product costing, variance analysis, and margin calculations.
- Proficiency in data handling and software tools such as MS Excel, ERP or MRP systems, and basic reporting tools.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes, preferably in electrical insulation materials, composites, or related industrial production environments.
- Solid understanding of raw materials, labor, overhead, and process parameters that impact production cost.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Production, Industrial) or a related technical discipline; additional training in cost accounting or industrial engineering is an advantage.
- Analytical mindset with attention to detail, accuracy in calculations, and ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills to work with cross-functional teams and present findings clearly.
- Ability to work on-site in Bengaluru, manage multiple costing assignments, and meet timelines in a quick-paced industrial setting.
