POSITION DESCRIPTION

2. OBJECTIVE:
- Responsible for preparation of complete process for Gears & Shafts machining and to establish fully functional facility corresponding to same.

4. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Description
- New product development, Feasibility study, drawing review, Preparation of tooling list as well as selection of tools in the best suitable lead time, stage drawings preparation, Knowledge of VMC and HMC programming.
- Drive continuous improvement activities in quality, cycle time, process improvement, machine availability through lean techniques and value engineering to enhance the capability of existing processes and remove wastes.
- Capex Budget Planning/ Forecasting for New Model Programs diversity management expenses through Automates solutions to manage the regular Engineering Changes & localization projects.
- Lead development of recent machining line set up for Gears & Shafts components, machining centre RFI/RFQ preparation, supplier evaluation & selection, Jigs/ Fixtures developments, lead capacity enhancement project of machining lines through tooling improvements & process optimization.
- Machining Cycle time Reduction for productivity improvement projects of Existing of Gear Box machining Components. (Shafts/Gears)
- Procurement and prove out of new machining centers / cutting tools and Hydraulic Fixtures Component machining.
- Responsible for new project investment cost calculation for fixture, cutting tools and gauges.
- Responsible for cost per component calculation and estimated cycle time calculation for new product development.
- New product development documentation. (Process drawing, PFD, Control Plan, SOP
- Time, Method study, Line balancing and Establishment of Work Standards, Production norms.
- Material Flow Study & Machine part programming
- Strong Knowledge of Documentation E.g. PFMEA, PFC ,WI, System Procedures
- CP/CPK study for machining processes
- Understand the New product introductions (NPI) and Process Controls
- Lead the Benchmarking Studies with Global Plants
- Cross Functional Team working & engagement
- Stellantis Production Way implementation
- Support & coach Performance champion/Process KTA and work groups for short- and long-term improvement of the workstation and continuously revised the material flow & process automation levels to support to enhance the in-process manufacturing quality
- Analyze problem process constraints and conduct the Automation studies to improve it
- Help management to implement quality assurance change initiatives and/or make continuous quality/automation improvements
- Make sense of complex, high quantity and sometimes contradictory information to effectively solve problems e.q. quickly determines the most critical data & focuses analysis there, recognizes even subtle symptoms that indicate problem; probes deeply root causes; uses systematic problem- solving methods.
5. COMMUNICATIONS & WORKING RELATIONSHIPS:
- Support Performance champion/Process KTA and work groups for short- and long-term improvement of the workstation and continuously revised the material flow & process automation levels to support to enhance the in-process manufacturing quality.
- Perform Gemba (tour de terrain) in the area under control daily.
- Organize meetings with cross function team members to share & align on all proposal before final implementation
- Work in cross-functional teams: customer, supplier, Manufacturing engineering, Quality Department and others when needed.
- Use and demonstrate proper communication etiquette.
- Ensure effective communication with all concerned functions

- Benchmark study solution implementations.

DATA ACCURECY:
- Real time update of Flow charts/standards
- Accurate Flow/Process Automation/ Budget estimations
- Publishing of required study reports as required
- Manage the proper allocation of resources requirements and budget for the area. Ensure all required flow/ automations studies conducted appropriately.
TEAM DEVELOPMENT:
- Coach, train and develop Team Leaders for continuous improvement activities
- Create a good working environment in which everyone is treated with dignity and promote good working relationship, while developing engagement of all Team Members.
- Understand the overall social climate and improve
- Ensure Latest Techniques/tools to evaluate all type of flows
7. QUALIFICATIONS, eXPERIENCE & SKILLS:
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor of Engineering (Production, Automobile, Mechanical) with 10-12 Years relevant experience in machining processes engineering in Automotive manufacturing industry
TECHNICAL SKILLS:
- Must have thorough knowledge of Gearbox component processes & machine selection
- Must have sound knowledge of CNC Programming
- Must be capable of tool planning & procurement for gears & shafts
- Must be well versed with Lean Manufacturing, OEE Calculations
- Must have sound knowledge of geometrical tolerancing
- Must have a knowledge of TS System covering APQP, PPAP,PFMEA & related documentation.
- Must have good knowledge of layout preparations considering lean manufacturing principles
- Must have sound knowledge of forging & die casting process & respective tool design
- Knowledge of latest Tooling and its cutting parameters
- Proficient in using software such as AUTOCAD, SolidWorks, etc.
- Awareness of ISO standards like QMS, EMS, EHS.
- General technical understanding of all Lean Manufacturing Tools/Techniques
- Knowledge of Industrial Engineering preferred.
- Knowledge on 3D software - Pro-E (Creo), Catia preferred
- Knowledge of process for gearbox & engine parts preferred
- Proficiency in computer skills, specifically with tools and software defined by Stellantis, such as:
- Microsoft Office
- SAP
- Other relevant tools and software
