About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Sourcing / Vendor Development professional with strong expertise in the Fasteners category, particularly Screws, to drive end-to-end sourcing, supplier development and commercial activities.

The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in Fasteners sourcing from an Automotive or Consumer Durables manufacturing setting.

Important: Candidates currently/previously working with Fasteners manufacturing companies are NOT eligible. The candidate must have experience sourcing Fasteners as a procurement/vendor-development professional from the user industry, preferably Automotive or Consumer Durables.

Key Responsibilities

1. Fasteners Sourcing & Category Management

- Manage sourcing and procurement of Fasteners, especially Screws, for manufacturing requirements.
- Develop and execute sourcing strategies to achieve optimum Cost, Quality and Delivery (QCD).
- Identify alternate sources and drive localization/alternate vendor development.
- Understand technical specifications, drawings, grades, sizes, coatings and application requirements of fasteners.

2. Vendor Development

- Identify, evaluate and develop new suppliers for fasteners.
- Conduct supplier capability assessments and coordinate supplier audits.
- Evaluate vendors based on quality, cost, capacity, technology and delivery capability.
- Develop new vendors to support NPD, localization and capacity requirements.
- Maintain and strengthen relationships with existing suppliers.

3. Costing & Commercial Negotiation

- Handle RFQ/RFP,



quotation analysis and techno-commercial evaluation.
- Perform cost benchmarking and should-cost/cost-break-up analysis.
- Negotiate price, MOQ, payment terms, lead time and commercial agreements.
- Drive annual cost reduction, VA/VE and productivity initiatives.
- Benchmark supplier pricing against market conditions and alternate sources.

4. Supplier Performance Management

- Monitor supplier performance on:
- Quality
- Cost
- Delivery
- Responsiveness
- Capacity

- Track supplier KPIs such as OTIF, rejection/PPM and lead time.
- Work with suppliers to resolve supply and quality issues.
- Drive corrective and preventive actions wherever required.

5. NPD & Cross-functional Collaboration

- Work closely with Engineering, Quality, Production, PPC, Stores and Finance teams.
- Support sourcing activities for New Product Development (NPD).
- Coordinate sample development, validation and supplier approvals.
- Support localization and alternate-source development.

6. Procurement & Documentation

- Manage RFQs, quotations, comparative statements, commercial evaluations and vendor documentation.
- Maintain supplier databases, price records and sourcing trackers.
- Use ERP/SAP and MS Excel for sourcing and procurement activities.

Mandatory Requirements

Must Have

- 7–14 years of experience in Sourcing / Procurement / Vendor Development.
- Strong hands-on experience in Fasteners,



with Screws as a major category.
- Must have sourced fasteners from an Automotive OR Consumer Durables manufacturing company.
- Strong experience in Vendor Development Supplier Management.
- Strong costing and commercial negotiation skills.
- Experience in RFQ, quotation comparison, supplier evaluation and price negotiation.
- Good understanding of fastener specifications and applications.
- Should be comfortable working with Engineering/Quality/Production teams.
- Immediate to 30 days' notice period.
- Willing to work from Gurugram.

The candidate should have worked on the buying/sourcing side, rather than manufacturing fasteners themselves.

Preferred Candidate Background

Best-fit profiles would be candidates who have handled Fasteners as a commodity/category while working in:

Automotive: Auto OEMs, Tier-1/Tier-2 suppliers, auto-component manufacturers, vehicle/component manufacturing.

Consumer Durables: Appliances, electrical/electronic consumer products, home appliances, HVAC, white goods, etc.

Relevant sourcing experience can include Screws, Bolts, Nuts, Washers, Rivets and other mechanical fastening components, with Screws being particularly important.

Education

B.E./B.Tech – Mechanical / Production / Industrial Engineering preferred.

MBA/PG qualification in Supply Chain / Procurement / Operations would be an added advantage.
