Role Overview

We are looking for a driven and locally-networked area sales manager to lead sales, distribution, and channel development for Biotane's natural sweetener and wellness portfolio across the Thane region. This is a field-facing, target-driven role suited to someone who understands FMCG/health-food distribution dynamics and can build strong retailer and distributor relationships from the ground up.

Key Responsibilities

- Drive primary and secondary sales targets for Biotane's sweetener and nutraceutical range across Thane and surrounding territories.
- Identify, appoint, and manage distributors, super-stockists, and retail partners within the assigned area.
- Expand product listings and visibility across general trade (GT), modern trade (MT), pharmacy, and health-food retail outlets.
- Plan and execute area-level sales strategies, promotional activities, and in-store visibility drives (shelf placement, POSM, sampling).
- Monitor competitor activity, pricing, and market trends for sweeteners and functional nutrition products; report actionable insights.




- Build and manage a beat plan for regular market coverage; track outlet productivity and coverage expansion.
- Coordinate with the supply chain team to ensure timely stock availability and manage distributor inventory levels (avoiding stock-outs and aging inventory).
- Manage collections, credit terms, and distributor claims/settlements within company policy.
- Recruit, train, and supervise a team of sales officers/feet-on-street where applicable.
- Provide regular sales MIS, forecasts, and territory performance reports to the Sales Head.
- Support new product launches with market readiness, trade activation, and early sell-through tracking.

Candidate Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in any discipline; MBA/PGDM in Sales & Marketing preferred.
- 4–8 years of relevant experience in FMCG, health foods, nutraceuticals, or pharma sales, with at least 2 years in an area/territory management role.
- Prior experience in the sweetener, health food, or wellness/nutraceutical category strongly preferred.
- Strong existing network of distributors and retailers in the Thane/MMR region.
- Proven track record of achieving primary and secondary sales targets.
- Working knowledge of distributor management, GT/MT operations, and basic trade scheme structuring.
- Comfortable with sales tracking tools/apps and basic MS Excel reporting.
- Excellent communication skills in Marathi, Hindi, and English.
- Willingness to travel extensively within the assigned territory.
- Two-wheeler/vehicle and valid driving license required.

Pay: ₹16,017.38 - ₹58,316.40 per month
