The Company

QissaGoi is a community art and cultural platform dedicated to preserving, celebrating, and promoting diverse South Asian and Middle Eastern cultural narratives. QissaGoi serves as a creative hub for artistic expression, cultural exchange, and community engagement through online platforms, live events, exhibitions, publications, and film.

We champion emerging and established artists, curate meaningful cultural programming, and build bridges between heritage and contemporary art. Our work spans editorial storytelling, archival research, visual arts, short films, and community-driven cultural festivals—and extends to the stewardship and activation of the art collection at Tulah Clinical Wellness in Calicut, Kerala, where art, nature, and well-being meet.

The Role The Art Project Coordinator is the on-the-ground custodian and project manager of the art collection and art initiatives in Kerala. Based full-time at Tulah Clinical Wellness in Calicut, you will steward, research, and activate the collection held within the facility, while coordinating the delivery of wider QissaGoi art projects across the region.

This is an entry-level role ideal for a recent graduate or early-career professional with a genuine passion for art, research, and cultural heritage, and an appetite for turning ideas into delivered projects. You will interpret the collection for guests through curated art walks, develop art-led therapeutic and cultural programmes alongside clinical and wellness teams, and keep exhibitions, commissions, and cultural events running smoothly from planning through to installation and reporting.

This role sits at the intersection of curatorial practice, collections care, programme design, and project coordination—perfect for someone who is as comfortable writing an interpretive text as they are chasing a delivery schedule or briefing an installation team.

Key Responsibilities

Collection Research & Documentation

· Study and develop a deep working knowledge of the art collection at Tulah Clinical Wellness and across QissaGoi’s Kerala holdings

· Conduct historical, cultural, and contextual research on artworks and artists, including provenance where required

· Create, maintain, and regularly update a comprehensive inventory and archival system covering artist, medium, dimensions, provenance, year, condition, and location

· Catalogue artworks in both physical and digital formats, with supporting research notes and interpretive texts, ensuring long-term archival integrity

· Coordinate with QissaGoi’s Archive & Research function so records, metadata standards, and cataloguing practice stay consistent across the platform

Curatorial & Guest Engagement

· Conceptualise and conduct guided art walks and tours for resident guests, visitors, and special groups

· Develop interpretive narratives that connect art, culture, nature, and wellness

· Write and deliver written and verbal content that is accessible, reflective, and engaging for diverse, non-specialist audiences

· Produce labels, wall texts, guest-facing guides, and digital interpretation material to a consistent editorial standard

Art-Led Wellness & Therapeutic Programming

· Design and develop art-based wellness and therapy programmes in consultation with Tulah’s clinical and wellness teams

· Support the integration of art into therapeutic, mindfulness, and restorative practices

· Assist in facilitating or coordinating art therapy sessions where appropriate, in collaboration with certified professionals

· Gather guest feedback and programme outcomes to refine and evidence the impact of art-led offerings

Project Coordination & Delivery

· Coordinate the end-to-end delivery of art projects in Kerala—exhibitions, commissions, installations, workshops, artist talks, and seasonal programmes

· Maintain project timelines, budgets, supplier and contractor schedules, and status updates, flagging risks early

· Manage logistics including framing, transport, installation, de-installation, condition reporting, and documentation

· Prepare briefing notes, project reports, and post-project summaries for management and the wider QissaGoi team

· Work with the Content & Creative Lead to supply accurate material for social, editorial, and post-event content

Artist, Partner & Institutional Liaison

· Act as the day-to-day point of contact for artists, fabricators, framers, conservators, and cultural partners in Kerala

· Build connections with museums, galleries, universities, and cultural institutions across Kerala and wider India for cooperative projects and knowledge exchange

· Identify and scout emerging talent, independent art spaces, and under-represented voices in the region

· Represent Tulah’s art programme and QissaGoi at professional networks, conferences, and cultural events

Collection Care & Institutional Support

· Monitor basic conservation needs and report any concerns relating to artwork condition, light, humidity, or handling

· Ensure artworks are displayed, handled, and stored responsibly and in line with best practice

· Support management with art-related planning, reporting, insurance and valuation records, and future acquisitions

· Uphold the guidelines and dispatch protocols governing the movement of works to and from the facility

· Academic projects, volunteer work at cultural institutions, or personal research portfolios are welcomed and valued

· Candidates with solid academic grounding and a demonstrated willingness to explore and grow within this role are encouraged to apply, even where direct experience is limited

Skills & Competencies

· Strong research, cataloguing, documentation, and writing skills with attention to detail and accuracy

· Ability to communicate art concepts clearly and warmly to non-specialist audiences, in writing and in person

· A museum-lover and exhibition-goer who never misses an art show, gallery opening, or cultural event

· A natural storyteller who can make objects and archival records feel alive and relevant

· A meticulous organiser who enjoys the practical craft of getting a project delivered on time and on budget

· Comfortable moving between detailed research, quiet guest-facing engagement, and hands-on installation days

· A bridge-builder who enjoys connecting artists, audiences, clinicians, and institutions
