Job Summary

Synechron is seeking an L3 Application Support & Development Analyst with 8–10 years of experience in application and production support. The role will maintain the stability, availability, and performance of critical applications in Windows environments while using PowerShell automation to improve operational efficiency.

The analyst will troubleshoot complex issues, support releases and upgrades, perform root-cause analysis, and collaborate with development, infrastructure, database, and business teams. The position is based in Pune and requires working from the office three days per week.

Software Requirements

Required

- 8+ years of application or production support experience.
- Strong PowerShell scripting and automation experience.
- Windows Server 2016, 2019, and/or 2022.
- IIS administration.
- Windows Services, Active Directory, Task Scheduler, and Event Viewer.
- Application, middleware, and server troubleshooting.
- SQL Server and practical SQL query debugging.
- Monitoring, deployment, patching, and release support.
- Incident, problem, and change management experience.
- Experience supporting applications within agreed service levels.

Preferred
- Experience developing automated test frameworks integrated with delivery pipelines.
- Knowledge of cloud-hosted Windows applications.
- Experience with monitoring and observability tools.
- Practical use of generative AI or agentic tools for support, testing, or automation.
- ITIL certification or equivalent service-management training.

Overall Responsibilities

- Provide Level 3 support for enterprise and business-critical applications.
- Investigate and resolve complex application, middleware, server, and database issues.
- Develop and maintain PowerShell scripts for monitoring, deployment, testing, and operational automation.
- Monitor application health and identify risks before they affect business operations.
- Perform root-cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Support application deployments, upgrades, patching, and release activities.
- Participate in major incident, on-call, problem, and change management processes.
- Maintain support documentation, knowledge articles, and operational runbooks.
- Identify opportunities to replace manual processes with reliable engineering solutions.

Technical Skills (By Category)

- PowerShell scripting and automation.

- Understanding of Windows-based application hosting environments.

Experience Requirements

- 8–10 years in application support, production support, systems support, or a related role.
- Strong experience supporting complex application landscapes with multiple technical dependencies.
- Demonstrable experience taking ownership of unfamiliar systems and becoming productive through structured investigation and documentation.
- Experience supporting testing or quality activities when required, including taking responsibility for a specific application area or region.
- Experience working with distributed, cross-functional teams.
- Financial services, regulated industries, or high-availability environments are preferred.
- Equivalent practical experience, technical training, certifications, or demonstrable project delivery may substitute for specific educational requirements.

Day-to-Day Activities

- Monitor applications, servers, services, logs, alerts, and scheduled jobs.
- Investigate incidents using PowerShell, Event Viewer, IIS logs, SQL queries, and monitoring data.
- Restart or reconfigure services, validate fixes, and coordinate escalations.




- Develop scripts to automate repetitive support and testing tasks.
- Support deployments, releases, patching, and environment changes.
- Participate in daily support meetings, incident reviews, release discussions, and service-management forums.
- Collaborate with development, infrastructure, database, testing, and business teams.
- Document known errors, fixes, system dependencies, and operational procedures.
- Prepare RCA reports and track corrective actions.

The role may participate in on-call support and major incident response. The analyst may make operational decisions within approved procedures and escalate matters involving significant business, security, or service risk.

Qualifications

- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, information technology, data engineering, data science, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
- ITIL, Microsoft, Windows, PowerShell, database, or cloud certifications are preferred.
- Completion of applicable Synechron training in security, compliance, service management, and operational procedures.
- Ongoing development in Windows administration, PowerShell, automation, testing, cloud technologies, and responsible AI use is expected.
