Role Objective

We're looking for a hands-on Technical Lead to own the end-to-end technical design and delivery of an AI-powered conversational chat interface that lets users complete everyday account and transaction actions — like checking, viewing transaction history, and managing requests — through natural language, voice and text, embedded inside a mobile application.

This is a build-and-lead role: you'll be the primary technical decision-maker on the project, working hands-on with the team while also being the main technical point of contact. You'll design how the pieces fit together, make the calls on architecture and integration approach, and be in the code and in the room with the client in equal measure.

Key Responsibilities:

- Solution design, end-to-end. You'll own how the chat interface, the AI orchestration layer, and the backend all fit together — not just one piece of it.
- Integration design across three systems: (1) The existing mobile app (credential/session handling, secure authentication hand-off, native navigation hand-off) (2) The LLM/AI provider (the language model powering the conversation), & (3) Backend service APIs (account actions, balance enquiry, transaction history, request management, support workflows, and more)
- Setting the technical bar for session security, data privacy, response speed, and system resilience — and making sure the team builds to it.
- Approving the tech stack and deployment approach, and designing how every chat-driven action gets logged for audit purposes.
- Hands-on delivery Take direct ownership of the most complex and high-stakes components of the solution, including (1) Secure credential hand-off:



Design and implement secure authentication flows that ensure the chat interface never collects, accesses, processes, or stores users’ sensitive authentication credentials. This is a strict, non-negotiable security requirement. (2) AI guardrails: Build robust guardrails to protect and mask personal/sensitive data, keep AI interactions within defined boundaries, and handle ambiguous, incomplete, or unclear user requests safely and effectively.
- Running the day-to-day engineering process: breaking work into sprint-ready tasks, running design/code reviews, unblocking developers, and owning the CI/CD (build & deployment) pipeline.
- Being the primary technical voice - explaining design decisions and trade-offs in plain terms, gathering requirements, and building confidence that the solution is being built the right way.
- Mentoring the team — this is a lead role, not a purely individual-contributor one. You'll be reviewing code, unblocking teammates, and raising the technical bar for the group.

What We're Looking For

Must-haves:

- 8+ years of hands-on software engineering experience, including real experience leading a technical team (not just contributing to one).
- Flutter — hands-on, production mobile development experience. This is a build-and-review role for the mobile chat module, not just high-level oversight.




- Solid backend development in Node.js or Python — comfortable designing how a system routes requests, calls external APIs, handles errors and retries, and logs everything for compliance.
- WebRTC experience — real-time audio/video/voice streaming, since this interface needs to support live voice interaction end-to-end, not just text.
- AI — Speech-to-Text (STT) and Text-to-Speech (TTS) — hands-on experience integrating STT/TTS so the interface can convert spoken input to text and generate natural spoken responses.
- Comfort owning security-sensitive design — session management, data masking, audit logging — even if you haven't worked specifically in this industry before.
- Proven client-facing communication skills — real experience explaining technical decisions to non-technical stakeholders, running requirement discussions, and getting sign-off on deliverables.
- Agile delivery experience — comfortable breaking down work, running or contributing to sprint ceremonies, and managing a live backlog.

Strongly preferred:

- Experience in banking, fintech, or another regulated industry — you don't need to know any specific payment standard, but experience working under strict compliance/data-handling rules is a major plus.
- Direct, hands-on experience integrating LLM/Generative AI APIs into a real product — prompt design, intent recognition, guardrails, and handling AI responses safely and reliably.

Nice-to-haves:

- Chatbot building experience — prior work building a conversational/chat interface for financial or transactional workflows.
- Experience with Kubernetes/Docker and CI/CD pipeline ownership.
