Hiring: Actuarial Lead

n n Essential Functions

n • Managing the Overall ALM Process( ALM, AMG and Liability modelling, along with US valuation)

n • Reviewing and validate results – for asset modelling, ALM work, reserving, capital adequacy checking

n • Support the determination of company-wide investment assumptions

n • Review of EV, LRT, US GAAP, Economic Capital, RBC related results

n • Managing implementation of emerging standards, such as GAAP LDTI

n • Managing team - training, rotations and professional development

n • Managing stakeholders

n • Taking initiative to get the team involved in new areas of work

n • Ensuring quality of outputs from the team

n n Basic Function

n • Managing and providing leadership to the ALM/AMG/US valuation teams

n • Rationalizing the ALM – US valuation team to increase efficiency by streamlining work

n • Communication with stakeholders; integration with onshore team

n • Training and upskilling of team members

n • Review of results

n • Keeping abreast of research and developments in the area, including developments in software, new standards and so on

n • Commenting on and suggesting alternative methodologies; providing thought leadership

n • Understanding of data sources, software, other platforms used –such as, Prophet ALS, Moses, Bloomberg

n Knowledge and skills (general and technical)

n n Technical Skills Knowledge of asset modelling, ALM, reserving, EV, LRT, US GAAP, Economic Capital, RBC

n Strong spreadsheet skills

n Process Specific Skills Knowledge of processes with Met Life ALM/AMG/US Valuation team

n Soft Skills (Mandatory) Excellent analytical skills

n Strong verbal and written communication skills

n Soft skills (Desired) Strong interpersonal skills

n Education:

n n Graduate in finance or quantitative field

n Advanced degree in quantitative field or an MBA is desirable.

n CFA, CERA, FRM, ASA and/or FSA/FIA qualifications are preferred

n n Experience:

n n At least XX years of experience in financial services industry preferably including experience within Asset Liability Management function

n Proven capability of demonstrating critical analysis and apply judgment to assist in interpreting complex topics.

n Flexibility and the ability to adapt to change in a dynamic environment and build collaborative relationships.

n Ability to challenge existing ways of working and provide innovative solutions.

n n Other Requirements (licenses, certifications, specialized training – if required)
