Job Overview We are looking for a detail-oriented Bookkeeping & Accounts Preparation Assistant to support our accounting team with day-to-day bookkeeping and preparation of accounts. The role is suitable for someone with a positive understanding of accounting principles and experience working with accounting software.

Key Responsibilities - Perform day-to-day bookkeeping and transaction processing.

- Record and reconcile bank transactions.
- Process sales invoices, purchase invoices, expenses and payments.
- Maintain accurate accounts payable and accounts receivable records.
- Assist with bank, supplier and customer reconciliations.
- Review and resolve bookkeeping discrepancies.
- Prepare working papers and schedules for management accounts and year-end accounts.
- Assist in preparation and review of Trial Balance.
- Post journals and maintain supporting documentation.
- Reconcile control accounts and balance sheet accounts.
- Organise and maintain client accounting records and supporting documents.
- Assist senior accountants with accounts preparation and other accounting assignments.
- Ensure work is completed accurately and within agreed deadlines.

Required Skills &





Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or Commerce preferred.

- Good understanding of bookkeeping and double-entry accounting.
- Experience with Xero, QuickBooks Online, Sage, FreeAgent or similar accounting software would be an advantage.
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to identify and resolve reconciliation differences.
- Positive organisational and time-management skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Experience - Familiarity with bank reconciliations, management accounts and year-end accounts preparation.

- Experience handling multiple clients or accounting assignments simultaneously.
