Sea Tusker Ship Management is seeking a qualified, safety-oriented, and experienced 2nd Officer to join our global fleet onboard a Research Vessel. As 2nd Officer, you will be responsible for navigation, passage planning, maintenance of navigational equipment, and ensuring strict compliance with international maritime safety and environmental regulations during specialized research operations.

Key Responsibilities

- Stand navigational bridge watches safely and efficiently during assigned shifts.
- Prepare and update comprehensive passage plans, charts (ECDIS/paper), and nautical publications.
- Maintain and inspect all bridge navigation tools, signaling equipment, and GMDSS communication systems.
- Assist the Chief Officer with safety equipment inspections, life-saving appliances (LSA), and fire-fighting appliances (FFA) maintenance.
- Support scientific and research operations by maintaining precise vessel positioning and operational readiness as required by the mission.

Requirements & Qualifications

- Rank Experience: Minimum 1 Year of documented experience as a 2nd Officer.
- Vessel Experience: Prior experience on Research Vessels, Survey Vessels, or specialized offshore vessels preferred.
- Certifications: Valid Certificate of Competency (CoC) as 2nd Officer, STCW mandatory safety courses, valid Seaman’s Book (CDC), and an up-to-date Medical Fitness Certificate (ENG1 or equivalent).
- Strong command of spoken and written English with solid communication and leadership skills onboard.

Remuneration & Contract Details

Competitive pay scale aligned with international market standards (commensurate with experience).
- Expected Joining Window: Late September to 1st Week of October.
