Senior / L3 Application Packaging Engineer

Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced Application Packaging Engineer with strong hands-on expertise in Flexera AdminStudio, MSI application packaging, PowerShell scripting, Application Virtualization, and SCCM/MECM deployment.

The candidate will be responsible for creating, customizing, testing, troubleshooting, remediating, and deploying enterprise Windows applications while following application packaging standards.

Key Responsibilities

- Create and customize MSI packages using Flexera AdminStudio.
- Convert EXE installers into MSI packages.
- Create and manage MST/Transform files based on different setting and customer requirements.
- Configure registry entries, permissions, services, scheduled tasks, Active Setup, and Merge Modules.
- Develop and manage Custom Actions where required.
- Handle Major Upgrades, Minor Upgrades, patches, and application revisions.
- Perform application packaging QA testing, validation, installation, and uninstallation testing.
- Troubleshoot and remediate application installation and deployment issues.
- Resolve application conflicts and compatibility issues after OS or security patch upgrades.
- Develop automation and detection scripts using PowerShell, VBScript, and Batch scripting.
- Perform App-V application sequencing and troubleshoot virtualization issues.
- Integrate and publish packaged applications through SCCM/MECM.
- Configure application detection methods, dependencies, deployments,



and content distribution.
- Monitor and troubleshoot failed application deployments.
- Coordinate with EUC teams and business users during UAT.
- Prepare SOPs, technical documentation, knowledge-base articles, and support documentation.
- Participate in customer meetings and provide regular activity/status reports.
- Support knowledge transfer to L2/L1 operations teams.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate should have 6 8 years of hands-on application packaging experience and should be comfortable independently handling complex MSI packaging, customization, remediation, scripting, testing, and enterprise deployment activities.

Strong communication skills and the ability to work with EUC teams, customers, business users, and support teams are required.
