Position: EAL Teacher (PYP & MYP)

Role Summary

The EAL Teacher will support the development of English language proficiency among pupils in the whole school (PYP & MYP). This full-time role focuses on delivering effective language instruction, supporting academic progress, and building pupils’ confidence in communication and literacy within an inclusive, inquiry-based learning environment.

Key Responsibilities

- Plan and deliver EAL lessons aligned with the IB PYP & MYP framework.
- Support pupils in developing English language, literacy,



and communication skills.
- Collaborate with EAL team and the subject teachers to support language development across the curriculum.
- Assess, monitor, and document pupil progress.
- Develop differentiated learning resources to meet individual pupil needs.
- Promote the IB Learner Profile and Approaches to Learning (ATL).
- Participate in school events, meetings, and professional development.

Essential Requirements

- Prior experience teaching EAL in an IB School is essential.
- Completion of an IB workshop is essential.
- Recognised teaching qualification (B.Ed. or equivalent).
- TEFL/TESOL certification is essential.
- Strong understanding of the IB framework and inquiry-based learning.
- Experience supporting multilingual learners.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and classroom management skills.
