About Navera

Navera Ventures is a Bengaluru company building an AI-native platform that helps enterprises migrate legacy applications to up-to-date stacks. The platform runs on Python, Postgres, and Neo4j. It turns undocumented systems into a queryable graph so migration is engineered rather than guessed.

Forward deployed engineers sit between that platform and the client's old world. You are hired because you have lived a production stack at a large company. Day to day you write Python on our platform: make it understand that stack, migrate it, and prove the new system matches the old one.

Why this role exists

The hard part of modernising a Java monolith is knowing where the business logic actually lives: the servlet, the XML Spring config, the stored procedure, the batch job nobody has owned in years. Generating new code is the easy bit.

We need people who have built or maintained that world in production, and who will write Python on our platform so the next migration is not guessed.

What you will do




- Build on a platform that runs on Python, Postgres, and Neo4j. Java applications are one of the stacks it modernises.
- Read and analyse a legacy Java / J2EE monolith: servlets, classic Spring with XML configuration, build scripts, and the SQL underneath.
- Trace where the business logic actually lives: screen flows, validation rules, data models, and batch jobs.
- Write Python capabilities that parse, document, and reconstruct the legacy application.
- Review and correct what the platform generates, and validate the migrated system against original behaviour.
- Use LLMs and coding agents as everyday production tools in the migration workflow.
- Own delivery milestones and talk to the client directly.

Must have
- 5 to 7 years building Java web applications, with at least one monolith you developed or maintained end to end.
- Deep Spring Boot, plus working knowledge of classic Spring with XML configuration.
