Role Description The Director at GIRL UP CIV will provide strategic leadership, oversee program planning and execution, and ensure alignment with the organization’s mission and goals. This full time, on-site role in Chennai involves managing daily operations, supervising staff, coordinating projects and events, and maintaining effective communication across internal teams and external partners. The Director will develop and monitor budgets, set performance targets, review progress, and implement improvements to enhance impact and efficiency. The role also includes stakeholder management, fundraising support, reporting to the governing body, and ensuring compliance with relevant policies and regulations.
Qualifications
Demonstrated leadership experience in program or organizational management, with the ability to guide teams, make decisions, and manage change effectively.
Strong skills in strategic planning, project management,



and operations oversight to coordinate multiple initiatives and meet organizational objectives.
Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills to work with diverse stakeholders, build partnerships, and represent the organization externally.
Proficiency in budgeting, financial oversight, and performance monitoring to ensure responsible resource use and measurable outcomes.
Experience in the non-profit, social impact, education, or youth development sector is highly beneficial.
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in management, social sciences, public administration, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
Ability to work on-site in Chennai on a full-time basis, with openness to flexible hours when required for events or key initiatives.
