Role Overview

The Monitoring Officer plays a central role in ensuring the integrity, quality, and utility of data generated across Magic Bus programme operations. Working within the MEL framework, the Monitoring Officer is responsible for conducting Quarterly Field Assessments, supporting concurrent monitoring, validating data collected through OASYS and paper-based tools, and contributing to evaluations and programme reviews. The role requires a field-oriented professional with strong analytical skills, an eye for data quality, and the ability to translate monitoring findings into actionable insights.

Key Responsibilities

1. Data Integrity & Quality Assurance
- Conduct regular data quality checks on all programme data reported through OASYS (digital platform), Children and Parents Record Forms (CPRF), and Session Quality Monitoring Forms (SQMF) to ensure accuracy,



completeness, and consistency.
- Triangulate data from multiple sources — including OASYS records, Random Head Counts (RHC), and field observation reports — to verify reported figures and flag discrepancies.
- Identify and escalate data quality issues to the Regional MIS Officer and respective programme teams, providing clear documentation of gaps and recommended corrective actions.
- Support field and programme staff in maintaining accurate individual-level participation records, including session attendance, home visit completion, and beneficiary coverage data.
- Maintain the integrity of monitoring data confidentiality protocols across all field locations.

2. Quarterly Field Assessments
- Plan and execute Quarterly Field Assessments across assigned programme locations, covering school-based observations, facilitator interactions, and learner engagement reviews, in alignment with the MEL plan.
