Job Summary

The Purchase Manager is responsible for planning, sourcing, negotiating, and procuring raw materials, consumables, machinery, spare parts, and services required for manufacturing operations. The role focuses on ensuring timely procurement, cost optimization, supplier development, and uninterrupted production through effective inventory and vendor management.

Key ResponsibilitiesProcurement & Sourcing
- Source and procure raw materials, castings, machining consumables, welding consumables, tools, and spare parts.
- Identify and develop reliable suppliers to ensure quality, cost, and timely delivery.
- Obtain and evaluate quotations from multiple vendors.
- Negotiate prices, payment terms, delivery schedules, and contracts.

Vendor Management
- Develop and maintain solid relationships with suppliers.
- Evaluate supplier performance based on quality, delivery, and cost.
- Resolve supplier-related issues and ensure corrective actions.

Inventory & Cost Control
- Monitor inventory levels and coordinate procurement activities to prevent shortages.




- Optimize inventory carrying costs while maintaining production requirements.
- Analyze market trends and identify cost-saving opportunities.

Purchase Order Management
- Prepare and issue purchase orders.
- Track orders and ensure timely delivery.
- Verify invoices and coordinate with the accounts department for payments.

Coordination & Compliance
- Coordinate with production, stores, quality, and finance departments.
- Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies and statutory requirements.
- Maintain accurate procurement records and reports.

Reporting
- Prepare monthly procurement reports.
- Monitor purchase budgets and supplier performance metrics.
- Present cost-saving initiatives and procurement strategies to management.

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Commerce, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
- Minimum 5-10 years of experience
