The Opportunity

Are you passionate about creating lasting change for people experiencing homelessness? This is a unique opportunity to play a leading role in delivering innovative, place-based responses to homelessness and rough sleeping in Maribyrnong.

As the Community Development Homelessness Officer, you will be at the forefront of Council's work to improve outcomes for people experiencing homelessness. As part of the newly established Footscray Welcome Crew,



you'll provide a visible, approachable presence in central Footscray, connecting people with the services and support they need through assertive outreach, service navigation and coordinated referrals.

You will also lead Council's operational role in Maribyrnong Zero, working in partnership with Launch Housing and local service providers to implement the nationally recognised Advance to Zero framework. Using real-time data and a collaborative, by-name approach, you'll help coordinate responses, strengthen partnerships, identify service gaps and contribute to the shared goal of ending rough sleeping in Maribyrnong.
