Designation: Senior Design Engineer – Mechanical

Industry: Laser Machine Manufacturing / Industrial Automation / Special Purpose Machinery
Experience: 5–10 Years

Key Responsibilities
Design and develop laser machines, SPMs, automation systems and robotic systems.
Develop 3D models, 2D manufacturing drawings, GA drawings and BOMs.
Design machine structures, fixtures, tooling, enclosures, mechanisms and assemblies.
Design precision systems for laser cutting, welding, marking, drilling, cleaning, scribing, cladding and hardening.
Develop customized SPMs, conveyors, job handlers and line-automation equipment.
Perform mechanical calculations and select bearings, shafts, motors, gearboxes, ball screws, linear guides, pneumatic components, etc.
Ensure proper tolerances, fits, GD&T;, alignment and precision.
Coordinate with Electrical, Automation, Production, Purchase, Quality and Service teams.
Support prototype development, machine assembly,



testing, FAT and commissioning.
Troubleshoot and resolve design, fabrication and assembly problems.
Apply Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) principles.
Review designs and drawings prepared by junior engineers.
Optimize designs for cost, performance, reliability and manufacturability.
Maintain accurate BOMs, drawings, revisions and technical documentation.
Guide and mentor Junior Design Engineers.

Required Skills
Robust knowledge of machine design and mechanical engineering.
Proficiency in SolidWorks / AutoCAD / Creo / CATIA or equivalent.
Valuable knowledge of GD&T;, tolerances and engineering drawings.
Experience with machining, fabrication, welding and sheet-metal components.
Knowledge of mechanisms, motion systems, bearings, shafts, gears, belts and linear motion components.
Knowledge of pneumatics, motors and gearboxes.
Experience in SPM / automation
