Job Purpose
The Store Assistant manages the daily inventory, storage, and distribution of medical and non-medical supplies of the organization. The role ensures compliance with safety standards, prevents stockouts of critical components, and maintains accurate records according to Indian regulatory frameworks.
Key Responsibilities
1. Inventory & Stock Management
- Receive, inspect, and verify incoming material.
- Cross-check deliveries against purchase orders, invoices, and delivery challans.
- Track expiration dates and strictly implement the First-In, First-Out (FIFO) method.
- Monitor stock levels daily to prevent shortages of critical consumables.
- Initiate purchase requisitions when items hit pre-defined reorder points.
2. Storage & Safety Compliance
- Organize the store layout for accessibility and optimal space utilization.
- Ensure proper storage of products and maintain hygiene, cleanliness, and safety protocols.
- Report discrepancies, damaged goods, or temperature fluctuations immediately.
3. Documentation & System Logging
- Maintain accurate digital and physical registers for all stock movement.
- Update the internal inventory management software/ ERP systems in real-time.
- Prepare weekly and monthly stock utilization and variance reports.
- Assist management during routine inspections and internal audits.
4. Internal Distribution
- Issue materials based on approved indents.
- Coordinate with staff for the protected handling of sensitive materials.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Education:Graduate in any discipline or Diploma in Material Management.
- Experience: 0-3 years of storekeeping experience, preferably in a hospital, lab, or blood bank (freshers may also apply).
