About The Role:

n

The Dean Academics in autonomous engineering colleges in Karnataka is responsible for managing all academic, curricular, and, regulatory activities. Key duties include designing curricula, implementing Outcomes-Based Education (OBE), scheduling, maintaining academic integrity, and ensuring compliance with UGC, AICTE, and VTU regulations. They play a pivotal role in accreditation (NBA/NAAC), monitoring, and improving educational standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Academic Planning & Implementation:
n
Develop academic calendars, schedules, and policies for undergraduate and postgraduate programs.
n
Curriculum Development (Autonomous Structure): Lead the design, modification, and implementation of curricula to meet industry demands, including Choice Based Credit Systems (CBCS).
n
Quality Assurance & Accreditation:
n
Drive preparations for NBA (National Board of Accreditation) and NAAC (National Assessment and Accreditation Council),



conducting academic audits.
n
Academic Monitoring:
n
Supervise departmental activities, including teacher lesson plans, attendance, and adherence to regulations.
n
Examination & Evaluation:
n
Oversee Continuous Internal Evaluations (CIE) and Semester End Examinations (SEE), along with result analysis.
n
Regulatory Liaison:
n
Act as a liaison with regulatory bodies such as AICTE, UGC, and the affiliating university (VTU) for compliance.
n
Student Support:
n
Manage student performance tracking, academic counseling, and resolve academic complaints.
n
Development:
n
Support, supervise, and encourage faculty for career development, research, and high teaching standards.
n
Report to Leadership:
n
Regularly update the Principal/Director on academic progress and strategic initiatives.
n

Qualification: B.E, M.Tech.,Ph.D in EEE, CSE, EC

n

n

Experience: Professor with at least 5 years worked as Dean-Academics is essential.
