Job Summary

M/S Goel Power Engineers LLP seeking a proactive and technically skilled Production Head to join our Genset manufacturing unit at Silvassa. The Production Head will be responsible for leading and managing the complete manufacturing operations of diesel generator (genset) production at the Velugam plant. This role involves ensuring efficient production planning, quality compliance, cost control, and timely delivery while maintaining operational excellence & best industry practices.

Key Responsibilities

1. Production Planning & Execution

Develop and implement production plans to meet business targets and customer delivery schedules. Ensure optimal utilization of manpower, machinery, and materials. Monitor daily production performance and resolve bottlenecks.

2. Manufacturing Operations

Oversee end-to-end genset manufacturing processes including fabrication, assembly, wiring, testing, and dispatch. Ensure adherence to SOPs and standard manufacturing practices. Drive continuous improvement in productivity and efficiency.

3. Quality Control & Assurance

Ensure all products meet internal quality standards and customer specifications. Coordinate with QA/QC teams for inspections, testing, and compliance. Implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).

4. Team Leadership & Development

Lead, mentor, and manage production teams, supervisors, and shop-floor staff. Build a high-performance culture through training and performance management. Ensure proper workforce planning and discipline.

5. Cost Management

Monitor and control production costs, wastage, and rework.



Improve cost efficiency through process optimization and lean practices.

6. Maintenance & Equipment Management

Coordinate with maintenance teams to ensure machine uptime and preventive maintenance. Minimize breakdowns and production downtime.

7. Safety & Compliance

Ensure strict adherence to safety protocols and statutory regulations. Promote a secure working environment and conduct regular safety audits.

8. Inventory & Supply Coordination

Coordinate with procurement and stores for availability of raw materials and components. Optimize inventory levels and reduce shortages/excess stock.

9. Reporting & MIS

Prepare and present production reports, KPIs, and performance metrics to management. Analyze data to drive decision-making and improvements.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

Production output vs. plan, On-time delivery (OTD), Rejection and rework rates, Machine utilization and downtime, Cost per unit, Safety compliance and incident rates

Key Skills & Competencies

· Strong knowledge of genset manufacturing processes

· Leadership and team management skills

· Production planning and control

· Lean manufacturing / Six Sigma knowledge (preferred)

· Problem-solving and decision-making ability

· Excellent communication and coordination skills

Qualifications & Experience

Bachelor's/Master's degree in Mechanical / Electrical Engineering (preferred) with 15+ years of experience in manufacturing, genset, automotive, or heavy engineering industries. Experience in OEM or component assembly plants is preferred.
