Job Title: Medical Coding Analyst (IP DRG & Surgery)

Work Location: Chennai / Hyderabad

Shift: General (10 AM to 7 PM / 11 AM to 8 PM)

Work Mode: Work from Office only

Certification: Must have CCS/CIC for IP DRG; any AAPC/AHIMA certification for Surgery

Role Summary:

Lead and deliver assigned tasks in medical coding, with expertise in denial management, trend analysis, and process analytics. Strong background in hospital billing required.

Essential Responsibilities:

- Review medical records and code them to Revenue Code, CPT, Modifiers, Diagnosis Code, and other billable requirements.
- Ensure documentation compliance with quality standards and policies.
- Provide information to west partners per expectations.
- Recommend workflow and process improvements.
- Use Microsoft Excel for data inputs,



building functions, sorting, and filtering.
- Maintain security and confidentiality standards.

Education:

- Graduation/BSc. in life sciences (Nursing, BDS, BAMS, BUMS, Clinical Biotech, Microbiology, etc.)

Certification:

- AAPC or AHIMA coding certifications mandatory
- CCS / CIC required for IP DRG

Experience:

Required:

- 1–6 years in IP DRG (CCS/CIC) or General Surgery coding
- Experience in multi-specialty hospital & provider coding
- Currently in an auditor role with quality report exposure

Preferred:

- Working knowledge of Epic and 3M 360
- Exposure to General and Cardiovascular Surgery coding
- Familiarity with Claims Edits and multiple specialties
- Detail-oriented, multitasking, self-motivated
- Robust communication and organizational skills
- Process improvement identification and follow-up
- Document assignments and follow-up status
- Understanding of payor policies
- Capable of team development and engagement initiatives
