Job SummaryWe are looking for a skilled and responsible Medical Laboratory Technician to perform laboratory investigations accurately and efficiently while maintaining high standards of quality, safety, patient care, and documentation.
- Key ResponsibilitiesCollect blood, urine, stool, and other clinical samples using appropriate techniques.
- Verify patient identification, test requests, sample labeling, and sample integrity.
- Perform routine laboratory investigations in Hematology, Clinical Biochemistry, Clinical Pathology, Serology, and related sections.
- Operate, calibrate, and maintain laboratory analyzers and equipment as per SOPs.
- Perform internal quality control and report any QC deviations to the concerned supervisor.
- Process, handle, store, and dispose of specimens according to laboratory protocols.
- Follow biomedical waste management and infection-control procedures.
- Ensure accurate entry of test results into the laboratory information system.
- Review results for technical errors, sample-related issues, or abnormal values before authorization.
- Maintain laboratory registers, worksheets, temperature logs, QC records, and equipment maintenance records.
- Perform routine cleaning and preventive maintenance of laboratory equipment.
- Maintain adequate stocks of reagents, consumables, and collection materials and inform the supervisor about shortages.
- Follow SOPs, laboratory safety guidelines, and NABL-related quality requirements where applicable.
- Coordinate with doctors, phlebotomists, reception staff, and other laboratory personnel for smooth workflow.
- Handle patient queries professionally and maintain patient confidentiality.
- Assist with home sample collection or other laboratory activities when required.
- Participate in audits, quality improvement activities, and competency assessments.
- Required SkillsGood knowledge of laboratory procedures and sample handling.
- Strong phlebotomy and venipuncture skills.
- Ability to operate automated and semi-automated laboratory equipment.
- Knowledge of internal quality control and laboratory safety.
- Good attention to detail and accuracy.
- Basic computer and laboratory information system skills.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Willingness to work in shifts, weekends, or holidays when required.
Preferred ExperienceExperience in any of the following will be an advantage:
- Automated hematology analyzers
- Biochemistry analyzers
- Urine and stool analysis
- Serology/immunology testing

- Quality control and NABL documentation
- Laboratory information systems
