Surmaye is a premium handloom fashion brand, which celebrates the harmony of heritage and contemporary design.

The company is co-founded by IIT, IIM and NIFD graduates with several years of industry experience, and is looking to scale-up significantly. We are looking for passionate and talented team members to join us on this journey.

Roles & Responsibilities

· Accounting/ Transactions

o Daily entries of Purchase, Sales, Returns, Expenses, Payments, Receipts

o Preparing delivery challans, sales invoices, purchase orders and e-way bills

o Maintaining accounts in computer software

o Preparing Trial Balance, Profit and Loss Account, and Balance Sheet on monthly, quarterly and annual basis

o Ledger management

o Master management (customers/ stores, products, vendors, etc.)

· Compliance

o Monthly workings and filing for GST, TDS, etc.

o Applications for casual GST

o Co-coordinating with CA for finalization of accounts and tax returns

o Staying updated with current financial regulations and accepted practices

· Banking





o Follow-up and reconciliation of payables and receivables

o Preparing Bank Reconciliations and doing other banking works

o Handling petty cash

· Financial & business analysis

o Financial and business analysis (sales, P&L;, etc.) and preparing relevant MIS reports. Highlight key gaps/ opportunities and potential intervention required

o Provide financial advice by studying operational issues, and applying financial principles and practices

o System inventory tracking and management of finished goods and raw material/ packaging material basis inward/ outward/ transfers

Skills

· Software knowledge in Tally and computer basics

· Comfortable with MS Office - Advanced Excel (including vlookup, pivot tables, etc.), Word and Power Point

Education & Experience

· Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce or related field (preferred)

· 3+ years of relevant experience, preferably in fashion industry in a similar role
