Role Overview
We are looking for a hands-on Production Engineer to direct day-to-day shop floor operations, machine assembly, and fabrication activities. You will be responsible for translating engineering designs into fully operational machinery on schedule, driving production targets, maintaining high quality standards, and optimizing manufacturing efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
1. Shop Floor Execution & Assembly Management
- Supervise daily manufacturing operations, structural fabrication, sub-assembly, and final machine assembly.
- Interpret 2D/3D engineering drawings, mechanical assemblies, and electrical/pneumatic schematics to guide assembly technicians and fitters.
- Monitor progress using Machine Travelers / Job Cards to ensure output aligns with production schedules.
2. Testing, Commissioning & Quality Control
- Oversee Internal Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) for automated filling lines, capping units, and conveyancing systems.
- Troubleshoot mechanical alignments, pneumatic sequences, and basic PLC automation issues before final dispatch.
- Collaborate with Quality Assurance (QA) to eliminate non-conformances, reduce rework,
and implement preventive maintenance for plant tooling.
3. Process Optimization & Productivity
- Drive Lean manufacturing principles (5S, Kaizen, Single Piece Flow) to reduce cycle times and material waste.
- Conduct line balancing, bottleneck analysis, and capacity planning to maximize machine shop throughput.
- Standardize assembly Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and work instructions for shop floor staff.
4. Safety & Resource Management
- Ensure strict adherence to plant safety protocols, machine guarding guidelines, and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) standards.
- Coordinate with Procurement for timely staging of raw materials and bought-out components to avoid assembly line stoppage.
- Manage manpower deployment, shift scheduling, and skill development for technicians and welders.
Qualifications & Requirements
Parameter - Requirement
Education Bachelor’s - Degree / Diploma in Mechanical, Production, or Industrial Engineering.
Experience - Min 1 years of core production experience in SPM (Special Purpose Machinery), industrial machinery, or automated filling equipment
Technical Skills - Proficient in reading engineering assembly drawings, fabrication tolerances, pneumatics, and basic electrical schematics
Software Skills - Experience with 2D / 3D drawing and MS Office suite
Core Competencies - Shop floor leadership, root-cause troubleshooting, team management, and line commissioning
