Job PurposeTo ensure the smooth, safe, and uninterrupted functioning of the hospital’s electrical systems, equipment, plumbing, fixtures, furniture, and other general maintenance requirements. The position is responsible for timely identification and repair of faults and maintaining the hospital infrastructure in good working condition.

- Key Responsibilities1. Electrical MaintenancePerform regular inspection and maintenance of electrical systems, wiring, switches, sockets, lights, fans, MCBs, DBs and other electrical installations.
- Attend to electrical breakdowns and faults immediately.
- Repair or replace defective electrical components as required.
- Monitor power supply and identify electrical issues before they lead to major breakdowns.
- Maintain proper safety standards while carrying out electrical work.
- Coordinate with external electricians or vendors for major electrical works when required.
- 2. General Repair & MaintenanceAttend to day-to-day maintenance complaints from all hospital departments.
- Repair doors, locks, handles, hinges, windows, furniture, fixtures and other hospital infrastructure.
- Handle minor plumbing repairs, leakage issues, taps, washbasins, flush systems and drainage-related complaints.
- Carry out basic civil maintenance such as minor wall, tile, ceiling and flooring repairs.
- Repair and maintain hospital fittings, shelves, racks and other utility items.
- Attend to emergency maintenance requirements on priority.

Preventive MaintenanceConduct regular inspection of hospital infrastructure and equipment.
- Follow preventive maintenance schedules for electrical and other maintenance systems.
- Identify potential faults and take corrective action before breakdown occurs.
- Maintain records of preventive maintenance and repairs completed.
- Ensure maintenance tools and equipment are properly maintained and safely stored.
- 4. Hospital-Specific ResponsibilitiesEnsure uninterrupted functioning of electrical and utility systems in critical areas such as patient rooms, ICU, laboratory, pharmacy, reception and other departments.
- Attend to maintenance complaints without unnecessary delay.
- Ensure that maintenance work does not disturb patient care or hospital operations.
- Follow hospital safety, infection-control and emergency procedures while performing maintenance work.
- Immediately report major electrical, plumbing, structural or safety-related issues to the reporting authority.
- 5. Documentation & CoordinationMaintain a daily maintenance complaint and repair log.
- Record materials and spare parts used for each repair.
- Inform the concerned department and reporting manager after completion of work.




- Coordinate with vendors and service agencies when specialized repair work is required.
- Maintain an inventory of commonly required electrical and maintenance spare parts and tools.
- Required SkillsGood knowledge of electrical maintenance and troubleshooting.
- Ability to handle general repair and maintenance work.
- Basic knowledge of plumbing, carpentry and civil repair work.
- Ability to identify and rectify electrical faults safely.
- Good problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to respond quickly to emergency maintenance calls.
- Basic documentation and record-keeping skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as with a team.
- Educational QualificationITI / Diploma in Electrical or Electrical & Maintenance-related trade preferred.
- Relevant technical certification will be an added advantage.
- Experience2–5 years of relevant experience in electrical, hospital, commercial building, hotel or facility maintenance.
- Experience in hospital maintenance will be preferred.
- Working ConditionsWillingness to work in rotational shifts if required.
- Should be available for emergency breakdown calls.
- Must follow all electrical and workplace safety procedures.
- Should maintain skilled conduct while interacting with hospital staff, patients and attendants.
- Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)Timely resolution of maintenance complaints.
- Minimum recurrence of electrical and maintenance breakdowns.
- Completion of preventive maintenance as per schedule.
- Proper maintenance documentation.
- Availability and proper functioning of hospital infrastructure.
- Compliance with safety and hospital maintenance protocols.
