JOB DESCRIPTION: FURNITURE PACKING SUPERVISOR

Position Title: Packing & Dispatch Supervisor (Furniture Industry)

Education Requirement: Graduate (Any Discipline)

Target Compensation: ₹17,000 per month (negotiable based on experience)

Employment Type: Full-Time

1. Role Summary

The Packing Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the end-to-end packaging, quality check, and dispatch preparation processes for manufactured furniture items (e.g., modular cabinetry, panels, assembled units, and hardware components). The role ensures that all finished goods are securely wrapped, labeled, and loaded safely to prevent transit damage, while managing floor staff and maintaining daily dispatch logs.

1. Key Responsibilities

Packaging Operations:

Supervise the wrapping and crating of furniture pieces using appropriate materials (edge protectors, bubble wrap, corrugated sheets, stretch film, and wooden pallets).

Ensure custom or knock-down (KD) furniture packs include all necessary hardware fittings, assembly instructions, and components.

Quality & Damage Control:

Conduct final visual inspections of finished furniture products for scratches, dents, or edge-band defects prior to packing.

Minimize material wastage (cartons, foam, wrapping tapes) on the packing floor.

Inventory & Record Management:

Maintain accurate daily logs of packed goods,



ready-for-dispatch stock, and packaging material inventory.

Generate barcode/shipping labels corresponding to order lists and delivery challans.

Manpower & Safety Management:

Allocate daily tasks to packing helpers, laborers, and loading staff.

Ensure adherence to workshop safety standards, proper lifting techniques, and clean housekeeping in the packing zone.

Dispatch Coordination:

Coordinate with logistics, transport teams, and factory management to ensure smooth, timely loading of finished goods into delivery vehicles.

1. Candidate Requirements & Skills

Education: Graduate degree (B.Com, B.A., B.Sc., or equivalent). Basic computer literacy (MS Excel/Word or entry-level ERP usage) for tracking inventory and printing labels is preferred.

Experience: Fresh graduates with strong organizational skills and leadership potential will also be considered.

Key Competencies:

Attention to detail and commitment to quality control.

Good communication skills to coordinate with production floor workers and transport drivers.

Physical stamina and ability to handle on-floor coordination in an industrial workshop setting.

1. Remuneration & Benefits

Salary: ₹17,000 / month (Fixed)
