Business Development Manager – WIFI FOUNDATION NPO, Pune

The Business Development Manager will be responsible for identifying, developing and converting new business opportunities for WIFI FOUNDATION NPO, Pune, with a solid focus on Start-ups, MSMEs, Women Entrepreneurs, Incubation, Entrepreneurship Development, Funding and Scale-up initiatives.

The role includes lead generation and conversion, developing partnerships with educational institutions, universities, colleges, corporates, industry associations, entrepreneurs and ecosystem partners, preparing and presenting proposals, conducting meetings, negotiations and follow-ups, and facilitating MoUs and institutional collaborations.

The Manager will undertake official travel to Pune and nearby cities, primarily by company-provided car, to visit educational institutions, meet management and key decision-makers, present proposals, conduct follow-ups and develop long-term institutional partnerships.





The Manager will additionally be responsible for the day-to-day management of the WIFI Foundation Hinjawadi Branch Office and a team of approximately 12–15 members, including participation in recruitment and hiring, induction and onboarding, team coordination, assigning daily and weekly work, setting priorities and targets, supervising execution, monitoring attendance and performance, conducting regular reviews, mentoring team members, and ensuring timely completion of assigned responsibilities.

The position requires close coordination across Business Development, Incubation, Funding, Finance, Legal, IPR, Research, Training, IT, Administration and Marketing functions, while maintaining institutional/client databases and reporting progress to senior management. This is a field-oriented, managerial and performance-driven position requiring strong leadership, communication, presentation, negotiation, networking and team-management abilities, with accountability for both business-development results and effective branch-office operations.
