Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced and technically sound Milling Operator to operate and monitor rice milling machinery in an FMCG rice manufacturing plant. The role involves ensuring smooth and efficient milling operations, maintaining product quality, monitoring machine parameters, minimizing product loss, and ensuring adherence to safety and production standards.

Key Responsibilities

Milling Operations

- Operate and monitor rice milling machines and associated equipment.
- Handle the complete milling process, including cleaning, dehusking, separation, polishing, grading, and related operations.
- Monitor machine parameters such as speed, pressure, temperature, feed rate, and output.
- Ensure continuous and efficient operation of the milling line.
- Adjust machine settings based on rice variety, moisture level, quality, and production requirements.
- Monitor milling recovery, broken rice percentage, and product wastage.
- Identify and rectify operational issues to minimize downtime.

Quality Control

- Ensure milled rice meets prescribed quality and production standards.
- Monitor grain appearance, whiteness, broken percentage, foreign matter, and other quality parameters.
- Coordinate with the Quality Control team for regular sampling and inspection.
- Immediately report deviations in product quality or machine performance to the supervisor.

Machine Monitoring & Maintenance

- Conduct routine inspection of milling machines and equipment.
- Perform basic troubleshooting and minor adjustments when required.
- Coordinate with the Maintenance team for breakdowns, preventive maintenance, and machine servicing.




- Ensure proper cleaning and lubrication of machinery as per SOP.
- Maintain cleanliness of the milling area and equipment.

Production & Documentation

- Achieve daily production targets while maintaining product quality.
- Record production quantities, machine parameters, downtime, wastage, and other operational data.
- Maintain shift-wise production and machine operation records.
- Ensure proper handling and movement of paddy, rice, bran, husk, broken rice, and finished products.
- Follow production schedules and instructions provided by the Production Manager.

Safety & Compliance

- Follow all plant safety procedures, SOPs, and PPE requirements.
- Ensure protected operation of milling machinery.
- Report unsafe conditions, equipment abnormalities, and accidents immediately.
- Maintain good housekeeping and follow 5S practices in the milling area.
- Ensure compliance with FMCG food safety and hygiene standards.

Required Skills & Qualifications

- ITI / Diploma / Technical qualification in Mechanical, Electrical, Food Processing, or a related field preferred.
- 37 years of experience in rice milling, food processing, grain processing, or a similar manufacturing environment.
- Hands-on experience operating rice milling machinery is highly preferred.
- Knowledge of rice milling processes and equipment.
- Understanding of machine parameters, production losses, and milling recovery.
- Basic troubleshooting and machine adjustment skills.
- Ability to read and maintain production logs and operational records.
- Good understanding of workplace safety and food manufacturing hygiene standards.
- Ability to work in rotational shifts and a production environment.
