Position : Deputy General Manager - Accounts and Finance - Well known Manufacturing - Building Material

Key Responsibilities

- Own the full P&L; for Elemental. Monthly closure, variance analysis, category and channel profitability, business review preparation. Build and run the FP&A; engine, including annual planning, quarterly forecasts and the analytics that inform pricing, credit and scheme policy decisions.
- Establish accounting policies under Ind AS. Design and enforce the delegation of authority and approval framework, the financial control architecture, the MIS and dashboard reporting on which the business will be run. Coordinate statutory, internal and tax audits; own audit closure and management responses.
- Own the direct and indirect tax mandate, multi-state GST, inter-state depot transfer economics, TDS, income tax, transfer pricing and related-party governance. Represent the company in assessments and lead the tax counsel relationship.
- Build and run the working capital cycle across dealer receivables, institutional and PSU receivables, payables to raw material & packaging vendors and inventory across the plant and depots. Manage banking and lender relationships.
- Own inventory valuation, physical-to-book reconciliation, obsolescence and slow-moving provisioning, and stores financial control across the plant and depot network.
- Lead the ERP selection, implementation and stabilisation. Own the chart of accounts, cost centre structure,



cost accounting architecture for plant operations and the reporting framework that will run on the ERP backbone.
- Own capex governance for the Jhargram plant, capital budgeting, CWIP accounting, borrowing cost capitalisation and commissioning-phase fixed asset accounting.
- Serve as the senior finance interface to the Promoters and the Board. Prepare Board updates, drive strategic and business planning conversations and provide the finance counsel required to make key business decisions.
- Partner with the VP-Sales on trade policy i.e. pricing, discount, credit and scheme terms, calibrated against competition and growth plans. Partner with Manufacturing, Supply Chain and HR on the finance implications of operational decisions.
- Build the finance organisation across Kolkata HQ and Jhargram plant. Hire and develop the FP&A;, controllership, taxation, compliance leads and the second organisational layer beneath.

Candidate Profile

- Chartered Accountant (CA) mandatory with 10 to 15 years of post-qualification experience in finance leadership roles.
- Prior experience at Building Materials B2B companies will be an advantage. Must have handled finance for a business of at least Rs 250 Cr in revenue.
- Robust command of Ind AS, direct and indirect taxation, regulatory compliance and statutory audit management.
