PostgreSQL Developer (5 to 7 Years) - Job Description

We are looking for a skilled PostgreSQL Developer with 5 to 7 years of overall experience in database development, optimization, and cloud-based solutions. The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in PostgreSQL, SQL/PL/pgSQL, and hands-on experience with AWS cloud services. The candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, optimizing, and maintaining database solutions that support business applications and ensure high performance, scalability, and reliability.

Key Responsibilities:

- Design, develop, and maintain PostgreSQL database objects including tables, views, functions, stored procedures, and triggers.
- Write and optimize complex SQL queries for performance and scalability.
- Perform database performance tuning, query optimization, indexing, and troubleshooting.
- Work with application development teams to support database integration and enhancements.
- Implement database backup, recovery, replication, and high-availability solutions.
- Manage and support PostgreSQL databases hosted on AWS RDS/Aurora PostgreSQL.




- Utilize AWS services such as RDS, EC2, S3, CloudWatch, IAM, and Lambda as part of database solutions.
- Participate in database migration, upgrades, and cloud modernization initiatives.

Required Skills:

- 5 to 7 years of experience in PostgreSQL database development.
- Strong knowledge of PostgreSQL, SQL, PL/pgSQL, and database design concepts.
- Hands-on experience with AWS RDS/Aurora PostgreSQL and other AWS services.
- Experience in query tuning, performance optimization, partitioning, and indexing.
- Valuable understanding of Linux/Unix environments.
- Experience with database monitoring, backup, recovery, and security best practices.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.

Preferred Skills:

- Experience with Python, Shell Scripting, or ETL tools.
- Knowledge of CI/CD and DevOps practices.
- AWS Certification is a plus.
