Job Summary
Position description: System Simulation Engineer (ICE/HEV/EV)
Purpose: To perform system-level simulation and engineering calculations for ICE, HEV and EV powertrains, supporting performance evaluation, component sizing, optimisation and virtual product development through simulation-based engineering.

Qualifications
- Education Qualification: M.E./M.Tech in Mechanical, Automotive, or aerospace engineering from IITs or NIT
- Required Experience: 1. 2-4 years of experience in vehicle performance simulation, system simulation, powertrain simulation, or related engineering domains.
- 2. Experience in hand/ design calculation for various system/sub-systems in an automobile using first principles and fundamentals of mechanical/thermal/ electrical systems.
- 3. Good fundamentals in vehicle dynamics, thermodynamics, energy systems and powertrain engineering.
- 4. Hands-on experience in at least one of AMESim, MATLAB/Simulink, GT-Power or equivalent is must.
- 5. Exposure to ICE, EV or HEV powertrain simulation.
- 6. Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
- 7. Basic Python/MATLAB scripting and automation capability preferred.
Role Description
- Perform system-level modelling and simulation for ICE, HEV and EV powertrains to evaluate vehicle and powertrain performance.
- Conduct engineering calculations for powertrain sizing, energy consumption, range, performance and operating conditions.
- Develop and execute 1D/0D simulation models using tools such as MATLAB/Simulink, GT-Power, AVL BOOST, AMESim or equivalent platforms.
- Support simulation studies for engine, motor, battery, transmission and thermal systems based on project requirements.
- Analyse simulation results,
identify key performance drivers and provide engineering recommendations to support design decisions.
- Correlate simulation results with test/experimental data and support improvement of model accuracy.
- Support benchmarking, target setting and prognosis studies for recent ICE/HEV/EV concepts.
- Develop reusable calculation methods, simulation models and Python/MATLAB-based automation to improve engineering efficiency.
- Work closely with Design, Testing, Controls, Battery, Motor and Vehicle teams to understand requirements and deliver simulation-based solutions.
- Document simulation methodology, assumptions, results and conclusions and present findings to project stakeholders.
