About the Role
Sharon Enterprises is seeking an experienced and commercially driven Business & Operations Head to lead and strengthen its growing rural retail and consumer-products business.
The business currently includes four Sharon Mart grocery stores, a central warehouse and production unit, and Sharon Gold, a portfolio of 25 proprietary consumer products. With plans for retail expansion, current Sharon Gold products and e-commerce development, we are looking for a hands-on leader who can build strong systems, develop teams and drive profitable growth.
Key Responsibilities

- Lead day-to-day operations of all Sharon Mart stores.
- Drive store-wise sales, margins, profitability and operational performance.
- Establish sales targets and monitor key retail KPIs.
- Supervise and develop Store In-Charges and retail teams.
- Strengthen inventory planning, replenishment, stock accuracy and controls.
- Reduce stock-outs, expiry, wastage, shrinkage and slow-moving inventory.
- Oversee procurement, supplier negotiations and purchasing efficiency.
- Develop and grow the Sharon Gold proprietary product portfolio.
- Establish and implement SOPs for retail, inventory, cash handling, purchasing and stock control.
- Improve use of POS/ERP systems and management reporting.
- Prepare dashboards covering sales, margins, inventory, expenses and store profitability.
- Support the development of e-commerce, WhatsApp ordering and local delivery channels.
- Assist management in evaluating and implementing future Sharon Mart expansion.
- Build a culture of accountability, customer service and performance across the business.

Candidate Profile
Essential:

- Graduate in Business, Commerce, Retail Management, Operations or related field.
- 58 years of relevant experience,



preferably in supermarket, grocery, FMCG retail, distribution or organised retail.
- Experience managing multiple retail outlets, a significant retail operation or FMCG distribution.
- Strong understanding of sales, gross margin, inventory, procurement and retail profitability.
- Experience managing frontline retail teams.
- Good working knowledge of POS/ERP systems, Excel and management reports.
- Strong numerical, analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to understand basic P&L; and business performance reports.
- Fluency in Tamil and English.
- Willingness to travel regularly between stores and spend significant time at retail locations and the warehouse.
