You will work on highscale systems handling billions of transactions, introduce innovative enhancements, and help maintain NPCIs Leadership in digital payments through robust, reliable API platforms.

Key responsibilities

- Lead endtoend delivery of UPI API applications, from system design to production deployment.
- Drive continuous enhancements in performance, security, scalability, and regulatory compliance.
- Design, build, and maintain highavailability microservicesbased API Platforms.
- Collaborate with crossfunctional teams to enable seamless integration and scalable solutions.
- Implement and enforce best practices for API lifecycle management, including versioning and backward compatibility.
- Establish strong observability practices using logging, metrics, and tracing for production systems.
- Optimize system architecture to support high transaction throughput and low latency.
- Ensure reliability and operational stability of APIs powering largescale UPI transactions.

- API Gateway: Kong / NGINX

Key skills and experience required

- Strong experience in scalable application development for hightraffic systems.
- Deep understanding of API design principles, RESTful services, and microservices architecture.
- Experience building and operating highavailability, lowlatency distributed systems.
- Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, automated deployment strategies, and production readiness.
- Strong understanding of observability, including logging, monitoring, and distributed tracing.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with crossfunctional engineering, platform, and architecture teams.
- Experience optimizing system performance, throughput, and reliability in production environments.

Positive to have skills and experience required

- Experience working with largescale payment or fintech platforms.
- Exposure to realtime observability and monitoring tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, and ELK Stack.
- Strong understanding of security mechanisms including OAuth2, JWT, and API rate limiting.
- Performance optimization experience using asynchronous processing and thread management.
- Background in maintaining and evolving nationscale digital infrastructure supporting realtime transactions.
