Job Summary

Kryon Publishing is looking for an experienced Language Editor with robust expertise in copy editing, formatting, styling, and quality control. The ideal candidate should have excellent English language skills, strong attention to detail, and experience working with publishing/editorial content.

Key Responsibilities

- Perform copy editing, language editing, proofreading, and quality checks on manuscripts and publications.
- Check and correct grammar, punctuation, spelling, sentence structure, and language clarity.
- Ensure proper formatting, styles, consistency, readability, and adherence to publishing standards.
- Apply and maintain required journal/publisher style guidelines throughout the document.
- Format and verify references and in-text citations as per the required style, such as Vancouver, APA, or journal-specific style.
- Conduct thorough QC checks to identify and correct errors before final delivery.
- Review manuscripts for consistency in headings, tables, figures, references, citations, author details, and affiliations.
- Coordinate with internal teams to resolve editorial, formatting, reference, and quality-related issues.




- Handle client communication, including query clarification, update sharing, and follow-up coordination.
- Manage mail communication professionally, including drafting, replying, and tracking editorial/project-related emails.
- Ensure all assigned projects are completed within deadlines while maintaining quality standards.

Required Skills

- 48 years of experience in Language Editing / Copy Editing / Publishing / Editorial Operations.
- Strong knowledge of formatting and document styles.
- Excellent copy editing and proofreading skills.
- Good understanding of English grammar, syntax, punctuation, and language conventions.
- Strong reference formatting and citation-checking skills.
- Strong QC and attention-to-detail skills.
- Ability to handle client communication and email correspondence professionally.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects within deadlines.
- Good communication and coordination skills.

Preferred

Experience in academic, STM, journal, or book publishing, along with working knowledge of MS Word, Adobe Acrobat/PDF tools, and document formatting tools, will be an added advantage.
