Role Overview The Medical Coding Trainer will be responsible for designing and delivering structured training programs on ICD10CM, CPT, and HCPCS coding, with a focus on edits and denials specialties. The role involves simplifying complex guidelines, conducting interactive learning sessions, and mentoring coders to ensure accuracy, compliance, and continuous skill development.

Key Responsibilities

- Develop and deliver comprehensive training modules on ICD10CM, CPT, and HCPCS coding.
- Simplify complex surgical and procedural coding guidelines into practical, realworld examples.
- Conduct workshops, case studies, and mock coding sessions to reinforce learning.
- Evaluate trainee performance through assessments, audits, and feedback.
- Stay updated with CMS guidelines, NCCI edits, payer rules, and specialty coding updates.
- Collaborate with QA teams to identify common errors and implement corrective training.
- Mentor and support both new hires and experienced coders in enhancing their skills.

Qualifications & Skills





- Minimum 4 years of handson medical coding experience in edits and denials specialties.
- Mandatory certification from AAPC (CPC, COC, CIC) or AHIMA (CCS, CCSP).
- Strong knowledge of ICD10CM, CPT, HCPCS Level II, and DRG/APC systems.
- Proven experience in training or mentoring coders with excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to simplify complex guidelines and engage learners effectively.
