About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Medical Coder with hands-on experience in US healthcare medical coding. The ideal candidate should have strong knowledge of ICD-10-CM, CPT and HCPCS coding, medical terminology, clinical documentation and US healthcare coding guidelines.

CPC-certified candidates with experience supporting US healthcare providers, hospitals, physician practices or RCM operations will be preferred.

Key Responsibilities

- Review medical records and clinical documentation for accurate coding.
- Assign ICD-10-CM, CPT and HCPCS codes based on documentation.
- Review physician notes, operative reports and other clinical records.
- Apply current US healthcare coding guidelines.
- Identify missing or unclear documentation and escalate queries.
- Support accurate claim preparation and submission.
- Review coding-related claim denials and identify coding issues.
- Maintain coding quality and productivity standards.
- Perform coding audits and quality checks.
- Stay updated on changes to ICD-10-CM, CPT and HCPCS guidelines.
- Ensure HIPAA compliance and confidentiality of patient information.
- Coordinate with Medical Billing, AR, Clinical Documentation and RCM teams.




- Support client-specific coding requirements and process improvements.

Key Software

Microsoft Excel, Google Sheets, EncoderPro, 3M Encoder, Optum Encoder, TruCode, Epic, Cerner, Athenahealth, NextGen; experience with other EHR, EMR, encoder or medical coding systems will also be considered.

Medical Coding & Healthcare Knowledge

ICD-10-CM, CPT, HCPCS, Medical Terminology, Diagnosis Coding, Procedure Coding, E&M; Coding, Clinical Documentation, DRG, HCC Coding, Medical Records Review, Coding Audits, Claims Coding, Revenue Cycle Management, US Healthcare, HIPAA, Payer Guidelines.

Qualifications & Skills

- Graduate degree in Medical Coding, Life Sciences, Healthcare Administration, Nursing, Pharmacy or a related field preferred.
- CPC certification preferred; CCS / CCA will be an advantage.
- 2-6 years of relevant US Medical Coding experience.
- Solid ICD-10-CM, CPT and HCPCS knowledge.
- Strong medical terminology and clinical documentation skills.
- Experience with EHR / EMR and coding encoder systems preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and coding accuracy.
- Ability to meet quality and productivity targets.
- Excellent analytical, communication and problem-solving skills.
- Experience supporting US healthcare providers, hospitals or RCM companies preferred.
