IT Support Engineer

About the Role
We are looking for an IT Support Engineer with 23 years of experience to provide reliable day-to-day IT support to employees. The role will be responsible for end-user support, hardware and software troubleshooting, network support, system administration, and basic infrastructure support across the organization.
The ideal candidate should have strong troubleshooting skills, a customer-service mindset, and the ability to resolve IT issues efficiently while maintaining security and operational standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide local IT support to employees for hardware, software, network, and system-related issues.
- Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot desktops, laptops, monitors, printers, scanners, and other IT peripherals.
- Diagnose and resolve Windows OS, Microsoft Office/365, email, browser, application, and system-related issues.
- Support employee onboarding and offboarding, including system setup, account provisioning, asset allocation, and access management.
- Troubleshoot LAN, Wi-Fi, VPN, DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP, and basic network connectivity issues.
- Monitor and support basic IT infrastructure, servers, network devices, and office IT equipment.
- Manage IT assets, maintain hardware/software inventory, and ensure proper tracking of company-issued devices.
- Install software, apply patches and updates, and ensure systems comply with company IT and security standards.
- Provide remote and onsite technical assistance and maintain proper documentation of IT incidents and resolutions.
- Coordinate with vendors and service providers for hardware repairs, internet connectivity, AMC, and other IT services.
- Support backup, antivirus/endpoint security, system updates, and basic cybersecurity controls.
- Maintain IT documentation, knowledge articles, and troubleshooting procedures.
- Escalate complex technical issues to the appropriate internal teams or external vendors.
- Ensure timely resolution of IT support tickets in accordance with defined SLAs.
- Assist with IT audits, compliance requirements, and implementation of IT policies and procedures.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelors degree/Diploma in Computer Science, IT, or a related field.
- 2–3 years of experience in IT support, desktop support, system administration, or a similar role.
- Strong knowledge of Windows operating systems, Microsoft Office/Microsoft 365, and common business applications.
- Good understanding of LAN/WAN, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, Wi-Fi, VPN, and basic networking concepts.
- Hands-on experience troubleshooting desktops, laptops, printers, peripherals, and other hardware.
- Familiarity with Active Directory, user accounts, permissions, and access management.
- Basic knowledge of IT security, antivirus/endpoint protection, patch management, and data protection.
- Experience with IT ticketing/helpdesk tools is preferred.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills with a customer-focused approach.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple support requests effectively.
Preferred Skills
- Experience supporting users in a corporate/IT services workplace.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Intune, Azure AD/Microsoft Entra ID, or endpoint management tools.
- Familiarity with basic server and cloud infrastructure concepts.
- ITIL Foundation certification would be an added advantage.
