BILLING MANAGER TRANSPORT OPERATIONS

Experience: 8 to 10 Years of Relevant Experience

ROLE SUMMARY

We are looking for an experienced and result-oriented Billing Manager with strong expertise in Transport / Car Rental Billing Operations.

The candidate will be responsible for managing the complete billing cycle, ensuring billing accuracy, timely invoicing, reconciliation, revenue tracking, and effective coordination with Operations, Finance, Clients, and Vendors.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

- Manage the complete billing process for transport and car rental operations.
- Ensure timely and accurate generation of customer invoices.
- Verify billing as per rental agreements, rate cards, contracts, trip sheets, duty slips, and approved tariffs.
- Coordinate with Operations to verify vehicle utilization, trips, extra duties, waiting charges, overtime, tolls, parking, and other billable items.
- Ensure 100% accurate and timely billing to maximize revenue realization.
- Review and approve billing before submission to clients.
- Prepare and maintain daily, weekly, and monthly billing MIS.
- Monitor pending bills, unbilled revenue, credit notes, debit notes, and billing adjustments.
- Reconcile operational records, billing data, and Finance records.
- Identify and prevent billing errors, revenue leakage, duplicate billing, and under-billing.
- Coordinate with Finance and Accounts teams regarding collections, outstanding payments, and reconciliation.
- Handle client billing queries, disputes, and escalations and ensure timely resolution.
- Coordinate with vendors for vendor billing verification and payment-related documentation.
- Establish and maintain effective billing processes, controls, and SOPs.
- Lead, guide, and monitor the Billing Team to ensure timely completion of work.
- Prepare management reports on billing, revenue, outstanding, collections, and operational performance.




- Support internal and external audits by providing required billing records and documentation.
- Ensure proper maintenance of billing records and supporting documents.

REQUIRED SKILLS

- Strong knowledge of Transport / Car Rental Billing.
- Excellent knowledge of MS Excel and MIS Reporting.
- Strong reconciliation and analytical skills.
- Good understanding of contracts, rate cards, and billing structures.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Solid coordination and follow-up skills.
- Good communication and client-handling abilities.
- Strong team-management and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to identify billing discrepancies and revenue leakage.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet strict billing deadlines.

QUALIFICATION

Graduate in Commerce, Finance, Accounting, or a related discipline.

EXPERIENCE

- 8–10 years of relevant experience in Billing, preferably in Transport, Car Rental, Employee Transportation, Fleet, Logistics, or related service industries.
- Experience managing a billing team and handling high-volume corporate billing will be preferred.
- Strong experience in end-to-end billing, reconciliation, and client coordination is essential.

A mature, responsible, analytical, and detail-oriented Billing Professional who can independently manage the complete transport billing function, lead the billing team, ensure timely revenue realization, and maintain strong billing controls.
