Job Summary
- The Sales Executive will be responsible for promoting and selling the company-s books and educational products to schools, booksellers, distributors, institutions, and other customers.
- The role requires regular market visits, building strong customer relationships, achieving sales targets, identifying new business opportunities, and ensuring timely order and payment follow-up.
Key Responsibilities
- - Visit schools, booksellers, distributors, dealers, and educational institutions regularly within the assigned territory.
- - Present and promote the company-s textbooks, supplementary books, workbooks, reference books, and other educational products.
- - Generate new business by identifying and approaching potential schools, dealers, and distributors.
- - Maintain strong relationships with existing customers and ensure regular follow-up.
- - Achieve assigned Annual sales targets.
- - Collect orders from customers and coordinate with the office, warehouse, and dispatch team for timely delivery.
- - Conduct product presentations and provide sample/specimen books to schools and teachers where required.
- - Meet school principals, teachers, coordinators, purchase departments, and other decision-makers to promote the company-s publications.
- - Follow up on quotations, orders, pending supplies, and customer requirements.
- - Monitor outstanding payments and support the company in timely payment collection.
- - Develop and maintain an updated database of schools, dealers, distributors, and other customers in the assigned territory.
- - Identify market trends, competitor activities, customer preferences, and new publishing opportunities.
- - Collect feedback from teachers, schools, booksellers, and distributors and share it with the management/editorial team.
- - Inform management about competitors- books, pricing, discounts, schemes, and promotional activities.
- - Participate in book fairs, exhibitions, school events, workshops, and promotional activitiesorganised by the company.
- - Prepare and submit daily/weekly tour plans, visit reports, sales reports, expense reports, and market feedback.
- - Plan field visits efficiently to ensure maximum coverage of the assigned sales territory.
- - Maintain proper records of samples, catalogues, promotional materials, customer orders, and collections.
- - Coordinate with internal departments to resolve customer complaints and ensure customer satisfaction.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
Performance will primarily be measured on:
- - Achievement of sales targets
- - Number and quality of school/customer visits
- - New school and dealer acquisition
- - Order generation and conversion
- - Growth in the assigned territory
- - Timely collection of outstanding payments
- - Customer retention and relationship management
- - Accuracy and regularity of sales reports
- - Market coverage and development
Required Qualifications
- - Graduate in any discipline.
- - Candidates with qualifications in Sales, Marketing, Business Administration, Education, or a related field will be preferred.
- - Previous experience in educational publishing, school sales, book distribution,
stationery, FMCG, or field sales will be an advantage.
- Experience
- - 1-3 years of field sales experience preferred.
- - Freshers with strong communication skills, confidence, and willingness to travel may also be considered.

- Travel Requirements
- The position requires regular field travel within the assigned territory.
- The Sales Executive should be comfortable visiting schools, dealers, distributors, and other customers on a daily basis.
- Outstation travel may also be required depending on the assigned region.

Compensation
- Salary: As per experience and company norms
- Incentives: Performance-based incentives may be provided.
