Job Summary

Mody University of Science & Technology is looking for an experienced and dynamic Head – Human Resources to lead the University's HR function.

The ideal candidate will have strong experience in strategic HR leadership, leadership hiring, talent acquisition, workforce planning, organisational development, HR operations, HR compliance and HR digitisation within a large academic or institutional environment.

The candidate should have strong qualified networks and a proven ability to attract and retain high-quality academic, administrative and senior leadership talent.

Key Responsibilities

Talent Acquisition & Leadership Hiring

- Lead recruitment for academic, administrative and senior leadership positions.
- Develop strong talent pipelines for critical institutional roles.
- Drive strategic talent hunting and executive search initiatives.
- Strengthen employer branding, recruitment outreach and candidate engagement.
- Leverage professional networks for senior and leadership hiring.

Strategic HR Leadership

- Lead HR strategy, workforce planning and organisational development initiatives.
- Partner with senior leadership on HR strategy and institutional development.




- Develop and implement progressive HR policies, systems and processes.
- Establish effective performance management frameworks aligned with institutional objectives.
- Drive workforce analytics and data-driven HR decision-making.

HR Operations & Compliance

- Oversee end-to-end HR operations including onboarding, contracts, probation, appraisals and employee separation.
- Ensure compliance with applicable employment regulations, statutory requirements and university policies.
- Drive HR process improvement and standardisation.
- Lead HR digitisation initiatives, including ERP/HRMS optimisation and HR analytics.

Candidate Profile

- MBA/PGDM in Human Resources or equivalent qualification from a reputed institution.
- Minimum 15+ years of HR experience, including significant leadership experience.
- Strong experience in HR leadership, talent acquisition and senior-level hiring.
- Strong professional and industry network.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Strong understanding of HR systems, policies, compliance and organisational development.
- Experience in universities, higher education institutions, large educational groups or defence establishments will be highly desirable.
