Assistant Manager / Manager

Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and review US federal and state income tax returns for individuals and entities (Forms
1040, 1065, 1120, 1120S) along with related schedules and workpapers
- Manage US accounting and bookkeeping engagements, including month-end close,
reconciliations, and preparation of financial statements under US GAAP
- Review work prepared by associates, ensure technical accuracy and quality, and provide timely,
constructive feedback
- Handle sales & use tax, payroll tax, 1099/W-2 and other compliance filings as applicable
- Coordinate directly with US clients and onshore teams on queries, information requests, and
deliverable timelines
- Track engagement budgets, workflow status, and turnaround times to ensure on-time delivery
through the US tax season
- Stay current on changes in US federal and state tax laws and accounting standards and cascade
updates to the team
- Drive process improvements, documentation, and standardisation within the US Tax &
Accounting practice
- Mentor, train, and supervise junior team members and support their technical development

Required Skills & Competencies
- 3-10 years of experience in US Tax & Accounting
- Hands-on experience in preparation and review of US federal and state tax returns (1040 / 1065 /
1120 / 1120S)
- Working knowledge of US GAAP and end-to-end bookkeeping and financial statement preparation
- Proficiency in tools such as CCH Axcess,
- UltraTax, Lacerte, Drake, QuickBooks, NetSuite, or Xero
- Qualification: CA / CPA / EA / CA Inter / M. Com / MBA (Finance) / B. Com or equivalent
- Experience in CA firms, Big 4, or a US accounting outsourcing / KPO environment preferred
- Solid proficiency in MS Excel and excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Willingness to work in US shift timings - 6:00 PM to 3:00 AM IST or 2:00 PM to 11:00 PM IST
- Ability to manage multiple engagements, meet deadlines, and lead a small team
- High level of ownership, accountability, and attention to detail
